Excellent product, MADE IN THE USA -- it matters, and most importantly works well!We can absolutely feel the difference once a new filter is installed -- the water is softer and not nearly as abrasive. Skin and hair do better, this really does change the way you shower, and it's also very affordable and worth every penny! Also, as long as it's installed properly (which is not difficult), you will not have any "messes" to deal with -- and we have had this for years with no issues. The only downside is that it really does not be replaced more often than the recommended 5 months. I would say every 3-4 months. This works great, just as described. It is not a water softener. It's a chlorine filter. Like it says. All these reviews about the high TDS readings are beyond ignorant. A water softener system is huge and costs thousands of dollars. This filter helps reduce chemicals from processed city water. Like it says.

Have been using these filters for years now. Big difference in how our water smells and feels. Easy to install, decent price, and does not hinder water flow. The water color is black (harmless charcoal) when you first run the water with a new cartridge, be sure to read the directions your first time, you want to run it until the water runs clear, then it's ready for use going forward!

The media could not be loaded. Update: The filter actually says to take off the shower head before installing. However every month I have to take off the shower head and clean the sediment trap. Then I get back all my pressure again.Great Filter! Easy to install. However, when we first installed it… I guess some of the charcoal seeped through the filter. We replaced the filter a few months later because of LOW water pressure. Turns out the screen in the shower head was blocked. I removed the shower head and cleaned out the blockage caused from the filter. Ran water for a few min and then reinstalled the shower head.All in all it’s a good filter. But still needing a water softener too.

I've used this filter for about 5 years now - and I can't be without it. I don't want to ever be without it, is probably more accurate, but seriously, the difference it makes in my skin, my hair, the rashes I get on my back, dry hands and nails, even difficulty breathing in the shower - this filter makes all those things seem like a bad dream. Just last week, during warmer weather when the humidity was high and it was raining off and on here in the Midwest, I was experiences the driest skin, and the driest hair and I just thought, so this is what happens when you get older - is it? I looked in my bathroom cabinets, I had 6 different shampoos each promising to fix the dry hair I thought was mine for the rest of my life, and next to the shampoos, I don't want to even tell you how many creams and lotions I'd collected, each one promising to do what the one before didn't. Nothing worked. All that money spent on nothing useful, I still itched, and my hair looked awful, no life in it at all.Then the lightbulb moment: I remembered that I hadn't replaced the Aquasana filter on the shower for over 5 months (and yes, I usually need to do it every 4 months, not 6, we take long showers in this house) - so I did, and the next day after one shower, I could feel the difference, less itchy skin, less redness on my face, and my hair, which had been coated with heavy shampoos that I'd bought to fix my dry hair - it felt and looked so much better right after the shower. Much healthier, and shinier.Fast forward to this week, one week of Aquasana filtered showers, and all is well. Even my legs don't feel dry, and my hair looks like it did before I FORGOT to REPLACE my Aquasana shower filter.Today is garbage pick up and I was able to throw away the half used bottles of shampoos that made me cough, lotions that either did nothing or made me feel sticky until I washed it off - now it's back to a simple shampoo and simple uncomplicated lotion. I'm telling you this filter makes all the difference in the world.If you find it to be expensive, I urge you to try it if you can, because at least for me, the cost of the filter for 4 months (my choice, long showers) is offset by my not having to buy expensive shampoos that promise to fix what's ailing the hair, but only make it worse, in combination with bad water - as well as body and face lotions that cost so awfully much, but again are only temporary fixes and can't fix the real problem of the coating that's on your skin from unfiltered shower water. It sounds like a commercial, but these filters may be expensive but they will pay for themselves by taking the place of the other products you'll no longer have to buy.I can't say enough good things about this filter - clearly by the length of this review, it would appear I've said plenty, so I'll shut up now, hoping you'll give this filter a try because I know you're going to love it. I love these shower filters I have used them for over 2 years. They work great to reduce the chlorine in the shower water.

My hair started getting frizzy so much, often hair loss and gets oily easily. I researched so much about the difference of water softener and filter. I decided to go with Aquasana and decided to wait couple of months to make a review to really test if it helps.Several months after, I can clearly tell the difference with how my hair and skin is now currently. It isn't dry anymore nor frizzy. Even my skin isn't dry.Thus, I vouch for this item's effectiveness for Dubai hard water
