Perfect upgrade!
I’m a professional Mobile Mechanic that installed this part onto a 2002 Lincoln Towncar. This is an Upgraded part from the original factory design and it is also a Perfect Fit! It comes with a new thermostat and no longer requires those 2 metal “Gaskets” as the gaskets are now built in! Do NOT use RTV Gasket maker or anything with this as it creates the perfect seal on its own. The bolt-down sequence must be followed in 2 phases! Everything needed is included. This improves fuel economy, stops the Coolant-Crossover leaks permanently, and brings many years of life back to the vehicle! This is a 8-10 hour job that will require doing a coolant flush/change once completed. Double check that all of your Fuel Injectors are pushed all the way in and tightened down fully to prevent fuel leaks and that all of the sensors are fully connected. After installing this, my customer noticed major improvements immediately, no more leaking coolant from under the thermostat/crossover area, and increased fuel economy. Didn’t pop up any check engine light codes 😊

Bad thermostat
Bad thermostat. Overheats maybe once a month. I knew it could be either air pocket in system or thermostat. No air pockets. Had a leak on top of intake (2 plugs on metal part) that I fixed with no problem. Someone else mention same issue as well on these reviews. Car has been running fine besides the thermostat is bad. Foam insulator does not come with intake. If u can save the old on try to but otherwise I just installed without it. Mine was too brittle.

If your leaks read
Installed first time leaked antifreeze profusely from both sides intake. Took it off checked o-rings didn't roll or anything put it back on was a little better but now also had a vacuum leak. Off a third time and noticed the counter sunk bolts on the bottom of the intake tightened those up installed it works perfect no leaks, then it got warm and had a small vacuum leak. The fix for me was liberal coating of rtv to the head then bring intake as straight down as I could not to smudge it use the torque patterns to lock it down been working for a while now don't think I'll ever have a problem. Honestly it being a blown plastic is what makes them hard to deal with they will bow and flex no two will likely be perfect not the producers fault it's Ford's use the rtv save you money and burn tires

Go to the review for important tips.
Intake fit perfect and was relatively easy to install. Here are 2 things you need to know if you are tackling this project. 1, on the rear of this intake there is a capped off water port. I suggest replacing the spring clamp with a real clamp. Mine did not hold and shot off the cap. No big deal, just something to avoid. 2. You will need something to put a vacuum on the coolant system before you fill it such as an (air lift). It is a sealed system and you will have a large amount of air trapped without pulling a vacuum. I learned this the hard way. The intake performs very well. Runners seem shorter than factory which seems to make more off idle response and low end power.

Cheap garbage don't waste your money
Absolute junk for performance. Cheap self tap fuel rail screws…really 👎

The review you need to read
- 2008 Lincoln town car signature limited 280k kms - I wouldn’t consider this a “perfect” replacement but it deserves credit where it’s deserved. I wouldn’t purchase this to have someone install. This is for those who work on their own vehicles or are capable of replacing themselves. You get what you pay for! I’ve taken a Dremmel to all the intake and coolant ports cleaning them up and removing excess material from the molding process. Some ports gained an extra mm. Coolant port was the worst which I opened up 2mm. I was able loosen the coolant bridge and line it up a little better with the ports. Took 30mins. I have some pitting around my coolant ports on my head so I’ve applied some black RTV to help assist sealing. (This is a great time to replace the water pump) Some comments complain about a gap from the coolant bridge to intake. It has to be mounted to the car - issue will cease to exist… add RTV if you’re worried. Hardware has been changed to some cheap screws since there are no threaded inserts except where the throttle body mounts but it’s more than enough to hold down the fuel rail and coil packs. Just be mindful when tightening and stop when you feel resistance. After all we’re here to save some money, what do you expect. I’ve had no issues just take your time and do a good job. I’ll update after I’ve driven the car for a little while. Update: its been about 15000kms. Its survived the winter, I used the supplied thermostat with no issues. I've had no issues, everything is working well.
