Updated review to 5 stars / outstanding customer service
I am updating my prior review to 5 stars. First, incredible and unusually great customer service !! The company reached out to me because they read my review and followed up . I was surprised ! They noted that I had an older version and possibly a defective device , as mine got too hot and had no good temp controls or timer. They sent me a replacement . This one has 5 temp levels settings, which correspond to actual temperatures noted in the directions, so you can choose the heat levels based on the actual temperature you need - PLUS a built in timer for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes . This mask has a built in temp sensor that PREVENTS overheating . It is still the same size and softness and has a wide flat elastic band that easily adjusts for size and the amount of pressure you want against your eyes . It comes with its own charging block , one side takes the device cable and the other side is the end that plugs into the wall outlet . Be sure to use this block as it does not get warm/ hot like other blocks can . I use the mask for dry eye relief and it is truly helping . It’s the best mask I’ve ever used for this . I use it EVERY day and then use the eye wipes and preservative free drops my eye doctor recommends . I have significantly better relief and eye comfort using the mask . I feel like the daily use of this mask is making my eyes better . I use it during the day and the auto shut off timer prevents overheating the skin around and over your eyes . Do not sleep in it as it has a cord that stays attached . I use a separate sleep mask at night to help keep drafts off my eyes . I use this mask 1-2 times daily but you can use it more if needed because it is adjustable for temp and time and has safety features to keep it from getting too hot . I highly recommend this current product version from this company , it is better, safer and works for the purpose — and their customer service is above and beyond- most impressive and caring . OLD review : I have had this for about a year and replaced it . There are no temp settings ,it’s only low, medium and high, not the degrees options shown . There are only 20/40/60 minute time options , again, not as shown . The longer it is on the hotter it gets even if set on low . Medium gets pretty hot . Hot gets way too hot for thin eyelid skin . The ophthalmologist’s recommended 108 degrees for 15 minutes as shown in the description are not even available / possible with this product . It is a good size to focus warmth on the eye area without also heating facial skin . The fabric is soft . There is zero aroma . This was expensive for what it actually is , so is not a good value for the money . If you need it for dry eyes this is not therapeutic . It’s more suitable for ‘ relaxing “ but it still can get too hot so use caution, you must set your own timer to use it less than the big time increments it has. Overall if this is for your eye health - shop around and get one with an adjustable temp and timer .

Great product, great customer service!
UPDATE (4/22/26): Great customer service! If you have any issues with your mask after the return window closes, don’t hesitate to reach out to this company directly. Shortly after posting my initial negative review (below), a customer service rep got in touch with me via email and offered to send me a replacement mask, free of charge. I’ve been using the new mask every night for the last two weeks, and so far it’s been working great. No issues with the buttons nor the display. This mask has helped my dry eye issues so, so much - I have significantly less irritation and redness. Give this mask a chance - and if your mask does happen to malfunction, this company will make things right (the warranty info in the box isn’t a gimmick- they are willing to send a replacement)! —————————- [Original review] It stopped working 9 days past the return window, of course! So frustrating for a new product to malfunction so quickly. I’ve been using the cord that came with the product AND I’ve plugged it into a surge protector. When not in use, I kept it tucked away safely in the box it came in. Tonight I press the power button and the control display flickers on briefly then goes right back off again, and it doesn’t heat up. I tried unplugging it and then plugging it back in, and it did almost the same thing, but the screen dimmed dramatically and the little light that was there randomly flickered throughout the different sections of the screen, making it unreadable. It got a little bit warm, but it doesn’t seem safe to use now that the screen is malfunctioning. It was great when it did work. 💔

Very, Very Helpful in managing Dry Eye
I bought this mask to replace my old one that I bought last year and recently stopped working. This newer model is a much better quality. The material is better. The control is also better and much bigger than the one before so it is easier for me to handle. I was diagnosed with chronic Dry Eye about 3 years ago. My eye doctor told me my Meibomian glands were clogged and I had to use heat 3 times a day for 15 minutes each time. The warm wash clothes were not working. They would only stay warm for a few minutes and I had to keep running to the bathroom to heat it up with warm water. This mask has a timer on it that is very helpful. The mask stops heating up once the set amount of time has passed. After I take off the mask my eyes are very red and gritty because all of the gunk that is clogging my glands gets into my eyes. My next step is to immediately go to the bathroom and wash my eyes with an eyelid cleanser. I take clean Q tips, dab it in some warm water and rub it across my water marks so that I can get the gunk out (the gunk is not always visible but it is there, trust me). I rinse all of the grit out of my eyes with artificial tears and my last step is to apply ice on my eyes for a few minutes to bring down the redness and inflammation. This will keep my dry eye under control for several hours if not most of the day. My eyes feel so much better after I do this. They start looking better too. The redness will eventually start clearing. The swelling and inflammation will eventually start calming down. My vision will not be blurry. This mask has been a lifesaver for my dry eye. Since I have started using it my glands have been slowly unclogging. This entire process seems tedious but my eyes are miserable if I don't do this. It's become a normal part of my routine. I hope this information helps.

It actually works to help my dry eyes!
I watched many youtube videos on how to help my dry eyes and warm compress was a recommendation in many of them. I was hoping not to spend this much but it was totally worth every penny! I've been using this before bed and upon waking - just for 5-10 min on level 3 or 4 and I can actually feel the oil or tears being released and coating my closed eyes (at least that's the sensation I'm feeling). I'm sure this won't be the same experience for everyone, but I feel that it's just what I needed. After each session, I deep blink. Then throughout the day, I will also do many deep blinks and eye "breaks" since staring at a computer is not healthy. I never had issues like this until menopause and it took me a lot of research to determine what was going on even after visits to the doctor, optometrist and ophthalmologist. Hoping that as this continues to help, I won't have to do it as often since I'm sure long term anything is detrimental. Love the long cord, timer functions and 5 levels of heat. It's also nice that I can plug this into my power bank and use it somewhere there is no outlet. I do wish there was a removable cover so you didn't dirty the pad. There was some sort of fabric with a snap that came with it but I thought it was some sort of "travel case". I think I'll try using that over the heated pad so I can just throw the cover in the wash. The "height" of the pad (top to bottom) is slim and allows the heat to warm the "eyeballs" as opposed to bigger masks that will sit on the bones around the eye and might not heat as effectively. I have read, though, that excessive heat can reshape the cornea if you're also doing eyelid massages, hence why I use this for short periods, med heat and hope to not have to use this long term.

Unsafe
My current review: The first mask stopped working after 7 months. I figured I could live with that, so I ordered another one. The new mask had none of the aromatherapy, smelled like nothing, but that was still not a deal breaker, just a disappointment, because I really enjoyed the smell of the first one. The actual dealbreaker came when 6 weeks after I received this 2nd mask, a thin piece of metal penetrated the mask's cloth covering and poked me in the face while I was using it! That could have been my eye. I tried to find a way to contact the company, but there is no contact info on Amazon, and what little info I can find is written in Chinese. Why would it matter anyway, though? An unsafe mask is an unsafe mask. They could offer me a refund, and they certainly should, but I couldn't provide a better review than this, because safety is a bottom line issue. This is my original, 4 star review. I ordered one of these masks to use treating my dry eyes. I had been using a wet washcloth, but my daughter ordered one of these for herself for the same reason, and she loves it. She warned me of a couple things, and now I am warning you. First, the mask must be plugged into a power source--we both use a portable charger--the whole time you're using it. This is both inconvenient and a little uncomfortable. Second, it takes a couple minutes to get hot, so be patient--and be sure you are using the right side! This is not hard when you remember that the blue side goes on the outside, so you are spritzing water on the dark side, and that's the side that will heat up and go on your eyes. The strap is unusually uncomfortable, very sturdy and thick, but it's located in such a way that it can't really go over the tops of your ears, and it won't stay put if you put it over the outsides of your ears. This is just frustrating. I position myself very carefully, and then make it a point to lie on my back, not moving a muscle, till it's done. And I don't know if this feature is a glitch that is true only of my mask, or if it's on everyone's, but in order to turn it on, I have to press the readout button on the portable charger before hitting the power button on my mask's control panel. I can click the power button all night long and it won't turn on, until I click the portable charger. Then it's fine. Finally, the "cover" that goes over it is a total joke, held shut by one snap in the very middle, and it slides all over the place. I gave up on the cover and threw it in the trash. So yes, definitely quirky, plenty of design issues--but it's nevertheless so much pleasanter than having to keep getting up to replace the washcloth every time it gets cold. I hope these people, or someone, can come up with a better model for a reasonable price, but until then, I think I'll go with this one, assuming it holds up for a few months. If it dies any time soon, I'll be back to remove a star or two and tell you about it.

Comfort
The mask is perfect size to cover just the eyes, which is so comfortable. Its temperature control allows you to select a heat level perfect for your comfort. The timer works great and also has choices to accommodate your timing! I love this mask for dry eyes or just to relax strained eyes. It makes your eyes feel great!

Can't control the heat level and no alarm on this mask
This heated eye mask works OK. However, it does not get as hot as desired. One of the key reasons I did not rate it higher is that the timer has no beep sound when the time is up. You have a mask on so you have to guess when the time is up or set your phone alarm. It would have been better just to put a simple alarm on the device. We will be looking for a more effective heated mask soon.

Convenient to use and effective
A little over two years ago, my optometrist suggested warm compresses to treat my dry eyes and blocked tear ducts. I tried it for a while and although I found it effective, it was inefficient and time consuming. Looking for an alternative, I came across the Aroma Season heated eye mask and found it to be both effective and efficient. Recently I had what seemed to me to be a minor issue with the eye mask, and contacted Product Support, who, to my surprise, responded by sending me the latest, improved, model of the eye mask. It looked the same and seemed to function the same. I was pleased with the original and equally pleased with the replacement. I was curious about what had changed, so I asked. Apparently, it has new heating elements and a control probe that monitors and adjusts the heat level in real time to prevent overheating or discomfort. I had noticed that after some time the heat level had dropped off, which it turns out is the effect of the control probe. I was pleased with my original purchase and am beyond pleased with Aroma Season’s product support and their new product. I highly recommend it.
