I decided to keep them (I needed them immediately for the guest room) so I washed them (during which one of the seams split but not too much down came out; I had to sew it up) then dried them in the sun, sprayed them with lavender linen spray...and they still smell bad. I hate that I have them in the guest room and will replace them as soon as possible. But really, they smell awful.
