Good but…
There are two versions of this book. One with access to online resources and one without. Apparently I unknowingly ordered the one without. The book has good information and i am enjoying it, however, as someone teaching myself audio examples are very helpful.

Excellent Intro with Classical Guitar Explanations and Theory
The way the author wrote in the fingering for both frethand (1-2-3-4) and picking-hand (PIMA) is just what I wanted. The intro is a great resource. The plentiful examples are practical and musical.

Good book.....but misleading/incorrect info on the cover.
I purchased the book and cd combo, which clearly states on the cover "online access".The book I received has a sticker on it that says "book and CD". I don't see anything about online access. Please contact me with the information as to how I gain "online access"

Highly recommended
This is a great resource for learning and improving fingerstyle. Students who have stayed with it and the subsequent books become very proficient players

Great intro course
This was a replacement CD for my book - Highly recommend the 3 book course as an intro to Fingerstyle guitar

Great series
I actually got hold of the intermediate book first, but realised it would be worth starting at the beginning. I've got a few years experience in a variety of styles and wanted a structured course in fingerstyle. The thing that struck me about both the Intermediate course and this one is that they both have some really enjoyable pieces in them. They just sound great. Even the beginning one started with a really nice little piece right up front. It certainly wasn't easy, even from the start, but well worth it. I'd recommend getting a basic course on guitar (or some lessons) first if you've never played before, but if you know a few chords and some of the basics, this will be a challenging and enjoyable course.

Ottimo metodo didattico

Very useful book. Starts at the VERY beginning with information ...
Very useful book. Starts at the VERY beginning with information on reading and understanding notation and TAB. Good starter exercises on fingering with a good selection of pieces to start you off. Really like this book, good value and really informative for beginner/intermediate players.

It looks great but...
The book looks great. I've looked through it and can't wait to start using it. However, with this book it is a case of buyer beware. There are versions with a CD, DVD and no CD or DVD. I did not realise this until it arrived. The book cover makes you think that the CD is included. To be fair the product description from Amazon does not mention a CD. Perhaps a description that adequately clears this up for the consumer would be a good idea. As it is, I have had to go through another music retailer (sheet music plus) to get the CD on it's own. If you are not fussed about the CD then this is a moot point. And, like I said the book looks great. Clear explanations and lot's of drills. This is why it gets four stars.
