No, you cannot have the phone screen facing out, but my original Otterbox holster was just the same. I believe that it was designed this way to protect the screen of your phone just in case the holster fell off onto solid flooring, or hard or rocky pavement. It is no big deal to unclip the phone to see who is calling, or to see what notification you might have received. To those people who were complaining about not having the ability to have their phone screen facing out have to realize that this is for the protection of your phone's screen. I prefer to have my screen protected by facing in rather than risking the possibility of the phone holster falling off and getting a cracked screen. My phone's protection warranty deductible is either $200 or $249 (sorry, can't remember off the top of my head), which to many of us is not chump change to get a replacement. To those who do not have a warranty on their phone, or anyone for that matter, the slight inconvenience is worth it. There are many times where I have clipped my phone onto my pocket instead of my belt and have it accidentally fall off doing some sort of activity. For those times, I was glad that my phone screen was facing inwards to the holster.Just for the record, I would like to state that I did not receive a discount or free product to write this review. This review is my own opinion of this Note 9 Otterbox Defender holster replacement. Some may disagree with my opinion which is your right to do so. Thanks for reading.
