P&G vs. Chlor-Floc
We tried the P&G and the Chlor-Floc on a four-day hike in the Grand Canyon. The river water was thick with sediments. The first difference is that P&G packets are for 10 liters and Chlor-Floc packets are for 1 liter. The second difference is that we preferred the P&G because the sediment stayed on the bottom of the bucket while we skimmed clear water off the top, while the Chlor-Floc sediment stirred up into the clear water. But this doesn't matter if you use a better technique. With P&G, bring two 10-liter collapsible buckets (Sea to Summit makes these). With Chlor-Floc bring two 1 liter Nalgeens. Bring a funnel with a large opening and a cheesecloth. Pour 9 liters of water from the first bucket to second, filtering out the sediment, and toss the final liter. Then, after 30 minutes, add a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to neutralize the chlorine. Finally, I filtered the water with my Grayl to remove the chemicals and kill any bacteria or viruses that might have survived the chlorine.

great product, will buy again
These things are awesome!!!! I took these with me on my last camping trip and I had two spare bottles about a quart each I think that I would use for treated water while using these packs. I am completely amazed with these things. The only thing I wish is that they came in some sort of water tight container but a ziplock bag will do the job nicely. They were able to clear some pretty green water in no time at all and the taste was good, there isn't a strong chemical flavor to it, but if there was just leave it in direct sunlight for a few hours and you are good to go. I would recommend these to anyone going camping or hiking.

Good product - good price
Good product, does the job it was intended to do. Kinda nasty tasting. I would not want to rely on this for more than a couple days - you can get sick doing that. Know how and when to sue these and also when to quit using them! Carry pouch is a nice bonus too.

Military Purification Tablets
I love these purification tablets!! Lightweight and compact (compared to other methods of purification). I prefer to carry something lightweight, especially if it is only going to be used in a survival situation. I carry these in my canteen pouch and in my "Bug out Bag". Love them and recommend them to anyone building a survival bag, hiking preparedness or any outdoor enthusiast. Good to keep some of these around (you never know). Good price also!

Great for emergencies
Easily used, I would keep them in a bin with low humidity and nothing lower than normal just saying normal humidity and Iโm sure the last a while and hopefully youโll never have to use them but in case of an emergency perfect.

Not as short term as some have said.
Despite some low reviews, got mine late 2020, date good til 05/2023. Maybe Rothco upped their game? Good short term storage. Just gotta manage your storage as with anything else, rotate as needed.

Glad to have them...
Haven't tried them... Just keeping them for emergency. Hope I picked right. Getting a disaster kit together is harder than it seems. Too many kits sold out there have substandard garbage or incomplete or incompatible items.
