Magnificent piece of engineering.Excellent power stability, glass lens quality and collimation.Whoever designed and made this module deserves a lot of credit. I just bought a 2nd one!POWER: both modules I are stably at 6-7 mW at 4V.Certainly delivers the power promised.

Power not up to spec
I energized the laser I received with a precision current limited laser/LED driver. At 3V, I measured less than 500 uW (0.5mW) with both of my Newport optical power meters. The laser gave a reasonable beam but it was less than 10% of the output power that was advertised. If you really need 5mW or even 1-2mW, look somewhere else.I am buying 2 more to make sure I didn't get a substandard device. I post an update when I can.

Not a direct emission diode?
It's tough to say for sure, but comparing head to head with a second 520nm laser, this one sure looks like a traditional DPSS infrared+crystal module at 532nm.
