Dorfman PacificScala Men's Crushable Wool Outback Hat

I really like this hat for it's straight forward look. Narrow leather band, no feathers, no bows. Just classic style. I wanted to buy a backup one but large black has been out stock for a long time. I hope it comes back soon. I might even buy 2 more when it does.

Great Hat! Got the black color. Fit was perfect, but too perfect and tight. I like my hats to be a little loose and sit down more on my head. Sitting high and perfect looks a bit dorky, as you can see in some pics people have self'eed and posted. Ha! ... Next size up would have been too much for my knoggin. Figured I would be a little tight on fit, so I bought a hat stretcher and stretched for it over 2-days, checking the stretch very 5-hours or so, and continued stretching it just a bit more by bit until I got it where I wanted it. You should not try to stretch it out all at once, because you could tear the hat. Let it stretch, relax, and then stretch a bit more. For me, I think it was best to be on the small side or close to spot-on for my buy, and work stretching it wider from there, than getting one too large, and then having to use rim fillers. Hat came wrapped and in a box. Glad I made a good buy! Price point is perfect. Highly recommend, and will be purchasing another in a different color.

Arrived in a timely fashion, undamaged, in an appropriate box with plastic cover and tags. The hat is what I expected and fits according to their chart. It's good quality thick felt and, so far, holds it's shape well. I have not tested it in the rain yet and it's too soon to tell if it will stretch (thus, 4 stars for now). The inside band is wide enough to add material if it does stretch so I expect this hat to last for a long time. I like the understated band too as I'm not into feathers and that sort of stuff. It's just western enough for me and the brim is not too wide, nor the crown too high which makes driving wearing it much easier. All in all, I'm happy and consider it money well spent. My intended use is cool weekends only...not a daily wearer.

I really like the look and feel of Dorfman hats. I bought a brown one similar to this one several years ago at Tractor Supply Company (TSC) for $15 and I have got more compliments on that inexpensive hat than all the other felt and straw hats that I have together. The black ones at TSC now cost $30 and they have such a plain hat band I decided to buy this one on Amazon. I usually wear a 7 1/8 to 7 1/4 size which was a Small/Medium on the brown hat I have had for years but I read some reviews that said this hat was somewhat tighter than previous Dorfman hats so I bought a Large and it fits perfect. The band is attractive but not gaudy (I'm not much for feathers and bling).

This is a quality hat that looks great., but as some others have mentioned, the crown is too small. You'd never want to wear this on a slightly windy day because your head doesnt fit up into the hat enough to keep it on. But on normal days, it's OK.

I've been looking for a black cowboy style hat for some time, but the only ones I liked seemed to all cost $225 and up. Saw this on a friend of mine, and he gave me the info. He bought it in a western wear shop in Payson, but I found it at Amazon. It is perfect for what I wanted. An "Aussie" style more than cowboy, but I'm delighted. For the money, an Great buy.

It actually would be a medium large as opposed to a "Large" which was how it was labeled. That is to say: the hat was a bit large for the measurements given, but would be small for a Large. A bit confusing. Otherwise the hat is of good quality and was the style shown.

Looks great and fit perfectly. Be sure to measure yourself before selecting a size when ordering. Also, I would suggest keeping the hat stored away from dirt and dust if you want it to look nice longer. Provides good protection from the sun. I've received complements on the hat style and appearance from day one. Beats the heck out of your run-of-the-mill baseball cap which, for some reason people tend to wear backward.
