These worked really well. Not so stable when the pointed ends are upward and you need to be careful not to knock the piece as it is easy to topples easily. I used the rubber flat sides for what I needed. I also found they were useful when sanding surfaces as the grip the face well and keeps the component in place. I now have 2sets and would recommend. These are brilliant little gizmos that enabled me to use a makita palm router to finish the edge of a small oak shield with no other fixings or clamps. I was a little scared at first that these wouldn't hold the wood steady but they worked like a charm with no shifting or slipping whatsoever.
