They are simply slide on cleats. As you would wear playing football, or golf. **Q: Will the large fit over a size 10-1/2 hiking boot, or should I get the xtra large?** A: We bought these for my 30 + son who hikes a lot. I asked him your question. They’d slip off our shoes and the pegs would come off (lost quite a few) because they’re removable. Not sure how’s they’d do on rocks and ramps.
