Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Balm, Atopic Dermatitis, Eczema-Prone, No Preservatives, Fragrance-Free

I've been struggling with eczema all of my life and I'm insanely sensitive to all sorts of creams. I've tried just about everything you could find. Colloidal oatmeal ones...to hypo allergenic creams in high end stores. I react to goat's milk and even ones with no fragrance. Well, for the first time ever, I found a cream that seems to be doing the trick. I'm on meds to help with the eczema, but the issue was the eye area, upper forehead [between eyebrows], and right under the nose and around the lips. I'd always get this redness and it didn't matter what creams I used. I recently switched to a Clinique soap [more like a moisturizer that comes out of a bottle] for my face, but it still wasn't getting better. It helped, but the redness wasn't going away!I read online about this cream. I don't use a ton. I put literally a drop under each eye and gently tap it into the area. I also just dab a tiny amount on any other red spot. I'm primarily using this for areas where the redness won't go away. Well, three days after starting this my skin is FINALLY healing around my eyes and in the other zones. My mom even noticed!I can tell you, this is a THICK cream. It's too heavy to slather all over your face. Use it to target areas and use a lighter moisturizer [Aveeno has a sensitive face cream that's new and works]. This cream will help the skin heal [all those annoying patches and redness]. It's worth the money. I suspect it's going to take me ages to finish this bottle off. But, it just is so nice to see my face and not have some sort of weird raccoon look.FYI - I do have some patches on my legs which I glob it on and it's helping that heal too. If you need a good hydrating cream that helps protect the skin and helps it get over that bump where it's irritated, this may work for you. Oh, it has absolutely no scent - none. That was a nice surprise. It's designed for sensitive skin. Initially, I was worried about the cost, but now that my eczema is healing up, it's worth every penny. This worked better than all those steroids and hydrocortisone my docs kept giving me. I was so stressed over the wrinkles under my eyes and for once, it's looking nice. :)

I love using this balm after my retinol routine at night. It’s thick and takes a bit of time to absorb. I also use it on other dry areas of my body, and it works wonders. Plus, it doesn't break me out.

My skin is very dry and scaly. This product moisturized my skin one use. Easily absorbed product with no residue.

This moisturizer is perfect for my dry and cracked hands. It’s a little pricey, but it is worth every penny.

An excellent lotion for anyone with a severe dry skin problem. The balm is thicker and leaves a slightly greasy feeling to your skin a little longer than the Skin Recovery Cream. I personally preferred the feel of the latter, but if you want a thicker cream or need one that is preservative free then this Replenishing Balm is the one for you. The Avène Eau Thermale products are amazing and have made an incredible difference for a family member who had such severely dry skin that even bending fingers would cause skin to split and bleed. After trying numerous lotions over the past year, with no improvement, we decided to bite the bullet on spending the money on this expensive product and are so pleased with the result! After only 2 days use, the skin is noticeably softer and less red, and he can bend his fingers fully again without pain or injury. I was apprehensive about the cap after reading other reviews, but there is no problem or trick to it at all...just squeeze your tube of lotion as you normally would and it comes out just fine. You may have to squeeze with slightly more pressure than normal, but it is not difficult by any means. The first time you open it, there is a little catch tab that was there to secure the lid tightly, but after opening just pop the little tab off. The cap still closes properly without it. The cap is simply designed to keep anything from being able to be sucked back into the tube as this is a preservative free lotion and needs to remain free from contamination. It is also worth noting, that as such it does have an expiration date for use..I bought mine in Feb 2017, it expires in June 2019 (was bottled June 2016). I mention this to anyone who has thoughts of stocking up on multiple tubes instead of purchasing as you go.

I have been using this product on my face for a few days and I already notice a difference! I have rough and red cheeks all the time and this has really helped to manage this. It is a very thick moisturizer and is pretty oily but I don’t have an issue with that since my skin is so dry. Highly recommended!!

This is the best moisturizer I have ever used and I will buy it until the day I die. I have very sensitive skin and this gives me no reaction at all -- not a blemish, not a single itch or patch of dryness. There is no scent at all. I find a little goes a long way and I apply to damn skin after a shower. I use it for my face AND body. The body is pretty large and it's a good price compared to Avene's other moisturizers which are very small. I will recommend this to everyone, everywhere because I don't want this to be discontinued. Try the body wash from this line, too!! If you have sensitive skin, I cannot recommend this enough.

This is my second time to buy the product. This is very useful for the baby's dry skin. It helps me to solve the baby's problem. If you have the same problem I think you can buy it. This one feels a bit oily, but is really moisturizing.

Sufro de dishidrosis, tenía un brote activo con tanta resequedad que no podía abrir bien las manos ya que se me hacían grietas, además de picaban, se descamaban, ardían, dolían y estaban enrojecidas e inflamadas. Desde la primera aplicación de la crema sentí un gran alivio en las manos, estaban tan hidratadas que pude abrirlas sin que se me hicieran grietas. Una semana después de estarla usando mis manos ya están muchísimo mejor, más hidratadas, las vesículas nuevas desaparecieron,me ayuda mucho con la comezón, la inflamación y enrojecimiento han disminuido considerablemente, y mis manos se están regenerando... Deje 4 fotos. La última es una foto actual, una semana después de su uso.
