Soldering iron stand ST-11

I love it way beyond my expectation I wasn’t expecting the base to be cast iron I thought it was plastic A+ seller I would definitely recommend this seller my soldering iron fits perfectly into the coil I love the design and how the coil sits to the side rather than over the sponge it’s small enough & easy to store reasonable price durability is strong

The sponge pad is large and the base is like a paper weight which gives the holder stability. There is just a single coil but it needs an inner coil to isolate the iron from making contact with the single coil. There is risk of a burn from contact with exposed coil. It would be nice to have rubber feet on the bottom to prevent it from sliding on a smooth surface.

i use this for stained glass work. works as desired. too simple to have any issues. will probably get discontinued as planned obsolescence was not used with this item. it is well made.

Updating this review. A couple things after using it for a few weeks. One thing, even though I added the rubber feet to it it was still too unstable for me, so I added a board to the bottom (see new photos) to make it a heavier and a more stable base. The other thing is when left it on and if the tip is inserted the whole way thru the holder it sticks due to the heat.Just got this. I am satisfied so far. For the reviews that say this had no sponge but instead just card stock people need to realize THAT IS THE SPONGE. You just wet it and it becomes the sponge. I added 3 little rubber bumpers to the base to keep it from sliding. You can buy them at Walmart. As for the coil heating up and getting hot to the touch, I haven’t run into that yet but if I do I may slide in an old unneeded socket to shield the coil from heating up too much.

The base is sturdy and holds the soldering iron steady, but it needs to have something on the base that blocks the whole thing from getting hot. I put it on a towel.
