Oh my glob, this stuff is incredible!
We have two dogs and two cats and a carpeted basement. That adds up to some whiffy pet odors at times, and vacuuming doesn't always take care of the odor along with the pet hair. We don't like the fake perfumy scent of many carpet deodorizers that only cover up odors and you end up with flowery dog bum smell. Ahh, no thanks. This product was just another try in the long process of trying to find something that actually deletes the odor rather than temporarily covering it up. We tried it out on the stairs first as they get the most foot traffic from people and pets. Holy cow, this powder is nothing short of a miracle. We sprinkled liberally on the stairs, blocked them off for about two hours, and then vacuumed thoroughly. When done, the carpet on the stairs didn't smell brand new, but it also didn't smell like pets or synthetic flowery pets. We did the rest of the carpet, turned off the air filters and fans, and kept people and pets off of it overnight after vacuuming so we could see how well this powder really worked. Even though this apparently had effectively nuked the pet odor on the stairs, we wanted a bigger test. When we went back into the basement the next evening about a day later it was obvious how well this carpet powder works. The only way to describe it is to compare it to how clean carpet smells after a professional thorough deep cleaning. It's fall but up here in the Hudson Valley we have temps in the 30s at night now and 50s during the day, so unlike warmer weather we can't open the windows to the basement, and HEPA filters can only do so much. When we came down the next day, NO SMELL. NONE. ZILCH. ZIPPO. Everything smelled, well, like nothing. Not like pets, not like the horrible fake fragrance from most carpet deodorizers. And unlike some carpet powders, this one vacuums up cleanly so you never end up with gritty carpet. TL:DR - this is worth it's weight in gold.

It saved our area rug
I don't write a lot of reviews on Amazon but felt it was worthwhile to let others know my experience with this product. We have a large (12X18) area rug in the bedroom. One of our elderly dogs had a few accidents. We tried to get it professionally cleaned but they don't do anything that contains viscose, said it would ruin the pattern. Who knew? Without doing the proper research we decided to hang the rug outside and wash it with the hose. Come to find out, viscose should never be cleaned with anything moist. Our big expensive rug looked great but stunk like a dead thing. For more than the cost of the rug I could have had a "Walkable Art" company come clean it but that wasn't an option. Lo and Behold I found this product and decided to give it a try. The first time around we used almost the whole bottle, spread it around and let it sit for slightly more than 24 hours. There is a rather strong smell to the deodorizer itself, but anything was better than smelling the rug. After vacuuming off, the smell was gone. After a couple weeks passed we could start to get whiffs again of the bad smell. Now weather had changed, the air was moist, we started running the heater, then finally after another couple rounds of vacuuming, the smell started to reappear. The next time I ordered two bottles (too much of a good thing can't be too bad can it?). We used both bottles, raked it into the rug after 24 hours to make sure it got good contact with all parts, then left it for another two days. This time the deodorizer smell didn't seem as bad, not sure if I'm used to it or if it smells less when there is less bad smell to activate it? Anyway, after 72 hours we vacuumed it off and the bad smell once again disappeared. Bonus, even my vacuum cleaner no longer has that "dog" smell. Not sure if we'll have to do it again in the future but even if I have to repeat this a few times a year, it's worth saving the cost of the rug. (Note to self, stay away from all rugs with Viscose on the tag)

Good product!
**update** I took a star off because after a week or so the smell does come back. Not quite as strong. I treated again with this product and it was better for about a week again. It seems this is something I will have to keep using to keep my carpet smelling fresh. Maybe there is no permanent solution to dog pee odor aside from replacing the carpet. I just used it and it does remove the dog urine smell from my carpet. I have an old dog that leaks urine (so no big pools of pee). I carpet cleaned it several times and could still smell it. Used this and the smell is gone from my wool carpet and rug. It is not difficult to vacuum up if you have a good vacuum (I have a Dyson). I will update if the smell returns, but I’m pleased for now. *it does not have a bleach smell as other reviewers stated. It smells like chlorine, because that’s what it is.

Beads are too big to get into the carpet
I used as directed but it didn't work so well. I think it is because the scented balls are too big. It should be more of a powder so it can get into the rug rather than just sit on top of it doing nothing.... It does smell good though. If you have thick plush carpet, then it might work for you but if your carpet or rug, as in my case, is dense then it won't work properly. I guess I can try to grind it up so that it get used rather than wasted....

Super Pleased!!
We have a puppy being trained and she had two accidents on the sofa last week when we napped longer than her bladder allowed. The sofa is fairly new so they were especially noticeable and had sat at least an hour so they were hard to remove. Our older dog then threw grass up on the sofa the next day and after cleaning thoroughly there was still an odor from all of this-so I purchased this product thinking I had nothing to lose. The instructions advise to leave it on for 4 hours, or overnight if it’s a strong odor. Before going to bed last night, and after the dogs were put away, I heavily sprinkled the sofa with it. I was careful to get plenty in the crevices, it’s a sectional. This morning the scent is in entirely gone in the very bad peepee spots and almost completely gone in the barfed on area. The product worked so well that I was able to notice that the barf was in another area I didn’t catch at first- it was in the corner of the sectional and I thought it only hit one side. The area that I had cleaned and then sprinkled on was completely odorless and I was able to recognize the other spot. I’ve just cleaned that area again and will resprinkle once it’s dry. As an added bonus it also removed the everyday “lived in” smell that you get with rotten dogs who like to dry the morning mist off on your brand new sofa. I’m very pleased that it cleaned so well that I was able to target the other problem area. I used a very liberal amount last night- I also sprinkled some large rugs as a precaution. The granules are easy to spot and grainy when stepped on. About the size of Epsom salt or course set salt. After super coating the sofa and sprinkling the rugs I had only used maybe 20-25% of the bottle. Moving forward I should only have to spot treat and then maybe a weekly precautionary sprinkle- I anticipate not needing to use nearly as much. It vacuumed up with no residue, I brushed a lot of it off the sofa and onto the floor and let my shark robot deal with it. Very, very pleased. We love our spoiled pets but we love a clean smelling home, too!

Yeah I'm not sure what others are reporting as it worked but in my experience so far it has not worked. 2 nights and nothing has changed. I should have use the money on something else.

Got rid of dog urine smell
I bought this not having high hopes that this would work. My husband always gets on me because I buy too many "gimmicks". Boy was I wrong!!!! Let me tell you my story. I got the stupid idea to get another dog, we already have 1 English Bulldog and I thought he could use a friend. So we now have 2. Our first one was super easy to train and rarely had accidents in the house. Well in comes Luna, she was such a cute puppy and we knew she was just going to be this best, easy to train English Bulldog. NOPE......she urinates anywhere and I mean anywhere! On the floor, on my kids beds, on any blanket that the kids leave on the ground, just about everywhere! So Humphrey my 4 year old English Bulldog (being the alpha he is), isn't going to let her urine out mask his. So what does he do? He urinates right over hers!!! We just replaced our carpets about 2 years ago and I almost tore my sons carpet out the other day because of the urine smell. I have an industrial carpet cleaner and got the best cleaner I could find for pet accidents (don't you love that saying? "pet accidents". Yeah right! Anyway, cleaned that carpet and did it again 2 days later. Still urine smell reeking out of his room. My son was already immune to the smell (he is 14) and he thought I was crazy. Nope, not crazy. His room is right at the top of our stairs and I could smell it when I walked up the steps. His door stayed closed all day long!!! So walked into my bedroom and told my husband that I was giving up ever getting the smell out and I was going to pull out his carpet because I could not have company over with my house smelling of dog piss. He of course just agreed with me. Then the angels came down and told me to look to my left as I was walking into my bathroom. What did I see?? The bottle of the nonSense Carpet Odor and Deodorizer just laying there on its side. Why you may ask was it there? Lets see....told kids to put it up out of the way and I guess they could not find a better place for it than on my bedroom floor. Back to the story....I grab it up and sprinkle the entire bottle all over his floor. He looked at me strange because here I am just got home from a busy 12 hour shift in the ER and I am acting like a lunatic rambling to myself, how I wished I never got the stupid urge to get another dog and how my husband should of put his foot down and said no and how these were the last 2 dogs our family will ever own! I shut the door and walk away to take a shower. At 11pm I walk down the hall, open the bedroom and I thought I suddenly got the corona virus. I COULD NOT SMELL ANY TRACES OF THE URINE!!! I screamed for my husband to come smell and he was shocked that those little bits of pure miracles took the smell completely away. So a BIG THANK YOU to this company! You saved me a ton of money. Getting ready to order another bottle to have on hand for my precious baby's "accidents". Definitely worth every penny!

Works very well. And super satisfying to vacuum up.
Very very happy with results and I have re-ordered for other rooms. I have a smelly blue heeler with double coat who sheds and doesn’t always get as regular of a bath as I would prefer. It took 2 containers to cover area of my large master bedroom carpet (the plush/longer Berber pile carpet put in most modern homes/apartments). I left it for 12 hours before vacuuming. There is a bit of a light residual chlorine smell but it dissipated completely between 24-72 hours. Much better than dealing with whatever nasty, cheap, and overwhelming fake fragrance powders you would get from grocery store that make my dog and I sneeze. In addition to being super satisfying to vacuum up, it actually removed the odor. It has been 2 months and I’m just starting to smell a bit of my dog again so it’s probably nearing time for another pass in a few weeks…but it’s a game changer and great for when you can’t get a steam clean.
