TYC 1-17841 Starter Motor Compatible with 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla

Starter fit perfectly and works as well as the original. Seems like a quality built starter. Time will tell how it holds up. Been one month at the review.

Managed to get my 18 year old oem starter replaced before it completely died on me. Car starts up much quicker and I don't feel like I'm risking the car not starting when I'm at work (because it never happens when you're at home right?). Watch a few videos before doing it, highly recommend removing the radiator fan (1 electrical connector and 2 bolts) so you can do everything from the top of the engine bay (and not from underneath like other videos).

The product came on time and was well packaged. It was new and appeared to be well made. It was an exact fit. It worked well, the car started on the first try. Easy install, just two bolts plus removing the radiator fan. The fan was also very easy to remove and install, just two bolts a hose and an electrical connection. It was for a 2004 Toyota Matrix Base Model. The lowest price at the auto store was $138.00, so pretty much half the price. I will just have to see how long it last.

My 03 Corolla starter motor was hanging up and starting to rotate slower as time went on even with a good battery. The original starter lasted 14 years but it was time to replace it. So I bought this starter. Shipped fast and was impressed with its look. It's printed brand new. Anyway besides from cutting up my arms getting to the bolts which wasn't that bad, it was an easy swap, maybe, 45 minutes. Bolted in easy and all connections fit perfect. Started up and spun much faster then old starter. Very happy with entire project at a good price. There are good videos on the tube to show bolt locations, sizes and best way to take them out. (2)14mm bolts hold starter, one (12) mm nut hold battery cable and one quick disconnect plug. That's all.

This starter was the perfect fit for our 2003 Toyota Corolla S that has 160,000 miles. I'm generally handy and it took me 1.5 hours to install. A review said the teeth count was different but I found them to be the same count. It was nice not having to deal with the back and forth of a core charge/credit with a local shop but I did recycle the starter at the recycling center. I watched 2 YouTube videos which helped. The hardest part was locating the 2nd of 2 mounting bolts and getting the fan and starter plug clips to separate - be careful not to break the 2 plugs; 1 on the starter and 1 on the fan. Some people say to not remove the fan but it was very easy to do an really opens up the area to get access to the starter although the 2nd bolt closest to the battery was in a weird spot.

I bought this due to it is Not made by recycled / rebuilt parts. This Starter made with all Brand New parts.It is also made in Taiwan. It comes with a piece of Quality Control Paper showing input/output data and charts/curve which show it passed by QA team.When I test this starter with jumping cable, it is very quiet. I installed it on a 2009 Toyota Corolla LE and it fits perfect. It has been almost 1-2 months after installation and I drive the car daily, so far so good. No more Cold Start Noise. 100% happy Customer. Go buy TYC brand product, the quality is much better than expected. I also have TYC alternator before and it still working after 3 years.

I bought a like new starter. it did not start at all. I noticed that plastic housing around the electronics / electric signal wire connector was broken. But the connector itself was still good. the starter tried to start the engine but could not start the engine.bottom line: DONT BUY TYC STARTER. at least no TYC starter for Toyota Corolla 2003-2008.I bought an ACDelco Gold starter for Toyota Corolla 2003-2008. it appeared to work fine.

Product arrived in perfect condition next day. Installed easily and works like it should. Price was much lower than local part store.

Chequé que sea compatible comparando formas, tamaños y demás con mi starer dañado previo a la compra, no está de más asegurarse bien. Olvidé tomarle foto pero todo en orden. Hasta suena diferente y arranca con más fuerza mi coche.

My old 2003 Toyota Corolla has been fantastic, but one day it stopped turning over. I'd turn the key, get a little hum, but the engine wouldn't start. All my other electricals seemed to work fine, so it wasn't the battery. After some online searches, it felt like it was the starter. I was happy to find this one on Amazon -- a lot cheaper than elsewhere. The first one I received had a broken plastic clip retainer. They sent a new one, very quickly and easily. (I sent back the original, free of charge). The plastic retainer was likely broken during shipping. It's prone to breaking since the body of the starter is heavy and metal, so if the package is dropped the wrong way, the plastic will simply break under the weight of the metal. I'm not a car-guy so getting under the hood is new territory for me, but there are a couple great videos on YouTube that were SO helpful. There were a few tricky bits when it came to undoing the bolts and clips on my old starter, but I eventually got the new one installed.... and it worked! The car turns over and runs just fine now. Saved myself a bunch of money instead of taking it into a shop. Solid product. Highly recommended! NOTE: You need a good ratchet set with an extension (around 9 inches??) to get at one bolt. You'll also probably need to top up your coolant after you're done since some will leak up when you disconnect the radiator fan. Watch YouTube videos on how to burp and top-up the coolant.
