A review from 2015 says lights move too fast. Has mfg improved & slowed down lights since then? I don't lights that blink or fade too fast also.

My lights don't move that fast also button can stop them.

How long do the batteries last

It depends which light settings you use and for how long at a time. Still light settings are more draining on batteries than the blinky settings. The most draining setting should be bright for several hours before gradually dimming. Batteries are replaceable once the lights become too dim.

Will these stay on without something placed on top of them?

Thank you for your inquiry! These coasters are not pressure activated. Press the clear button located on the back of the coaster to activate and change the light settings. The Infinity Tunnel LED Coaster has six light up functions including a rapid flashing, slow Color-changing, still light, and individual flashing colors!
