These pipes look good, but the heat shields are only painted black
These pipes look good, but the heat shields are only painted black. If you get them wet and the pipes are hot they shields will rust. The pipes themselves also get rusty, especially the flanges that hold them to the engine. The rust is not covered by warranty. I installed mine in February and started riding in May, and I have already had to repaint them. I used the VHT brand of paint. It is ceramic based. Save your money and but the Vance and Hines if you want the black pipes. The Freedom brand are also good. I have not had any probles with the Cobra air filter or the fuel modulator but the pipes are not worth the money.
