For midcentury modern, show-stopping floors, this stuff is great
My parents have used Trewax for more than 50 years on the oak parquet floor in their living and dining room. Over time, it has only become more beautiful. When we bought our 1950 ranch home with waxed oak floors in every original room except the bathrooms, I found Trewax and we invested in an Oreck orbital. The floor in our home's addition were oak with polyurethane. As a result of major storm damage, we are redoing the floor in the addition and after sanding, I've decided to wax them rather than return to the polyurethane. I use the Mahogany paste wax and it gives the new floors a beautiful color. Yes, it takes a little elbow grease - I am applying three coats since this is basically unfinished wood. But the smell is not bad, I don't have to wait for it to dry and I can easily add another coat whenever I need to.

Great value!
I started my new hobby of chalk painting recently. I decided to do some research on the best type of wax to use. Most people recommended Annie Sloan or Minwax but the price made me hesitant. So I found Trewax on Amazon and noted how much cheaper the two pack was compared to anything else for one jar (probably half the price!). So, I figured Amazon has a great return policy and I wasn't risking much. While reading reviews, I noted people saying how this wax was much harder than other waxes--specifically Annie Sloan's soft wax. I was so eager to use it, I started right when it arrived. It was definitely hard and I had to put a lot of elbow grease into waxing my current project. I alternated between using my waxing brush and the yellow pad included with the Trewax. I like the yellow pad a lot for smooth surfaces, easier to get in the grooves. After some time, I realized I should try the wax after it had acclimated to room temperature. This is the key to this wax I've found. I keep my house around 69-70 degrees. Storing the wax inside the house has made a huge difference in it's performance. It is much easier to apply and much much easier to buff.I've included a picture of some frames I've chalk painted and waxed using Trewax. I plan to make an empty frame wall with them. For the frames shown, I used a waxing brush to get in the grooves because of all the details. For something like a side table with a flat surface, the yellow pad that comes with the Trewax would be sufficient.Overall pros and cons:Pros: cost effective, comes with yellow pad that's great for applying to flat surfaces, great application, a little goes a long wayCons: harder wax, needs to acclimate the wax to room temperature to get the best consistency and application

Great stuff, not really designed for soft untreated subfloor ...
Great stuff, not really designed for soft untreated subfloor like I have but in order to maintain a shine and prevent slivers it has helped tremendously.Only con is that it stinks for awhile and i have to put the dogs outside.

So easy to use
Yes Yes Yes!So easy to use!Buffs out beautifully!Hard as a turtle shell!I ordered this on a whim to use instead of Annie Sloan Soft Waxes. What a time saver! The coverage is effortless and consistent; no gloving or glimpsing on the applicator or furniture. To apply I used the applicator pad that came with the wax (meh), an AS wax brush (fine), painters cheesecloth (good), and an old piece of tshirt (best). This wax works beautifully over chalk paint. This is what winning Power Ball must feel like.

Shined my old wood floors
I love the way it brought my old wood floors to a nice luster. Use very sparingly after you clean your wood floor! Used my electric buffer when wax dried! Turned out nice. Probably will do it once a year.

Fantastic for rust prevention and long term storage of metal goods
Awesome wax! I have a large knife/sword/machete/blade collection - everything from Busse to real Nepalese kukris. I live in TX near the coast so when I noticed rust spots forming on my mirror-polished Ang Khola, I knew it was time to act. After doing much research I ALMOST purchased Ren Wax. I'm glad I didn't. My friend uses Ren Wax on his blades and the ONLY difference that I can tell is that his spreads a bit more easily. I remedy this by scooping a bit into a coffee mug and microwaving it for a bit. Then I paint it on using a paintbrush. Display blades are then buffed, but blades in long term storage get to keep a thicker coating for further protection. Since using this product, I have noticed no rust whatsoever on any of my treated blades. In hindsight, I probably didn't need so much though - I'm not even 1/4 of the way through one tub and I've used it liberally. Forget the expensive stuff - this is the real deal at a fraction of the price. Excellent.

Great Value
Purchased this to wax my woodworking equipment. Very tolerable odor, worked exactly as intended. I’m very happy with this product.

Shiny polish..
I give it a 2 star. It's clear. But after u put it on the wood floor...u dint want to even think about walking on the floors. They become extremely slick. My nonslip carpet pads were all over the place and I almost did a back flip. It was scary....

Ideal for Waxing Gunstocks
I did not buy it for my floor but to wax gunstocks. You can buy "gunstock" wax and get a small bottle for about the same price as one of these tubs. When I clean and restore vintage military firearms, after the linseed oil has dried an application of this wax serves both to protect the wood and bring it back to life. It dries fairly quickly to a hard finish and can be buffed to a sedate gloss. The only drawback is that you need to heat it up to around 80 - 90F to be able to apply it easily. Ditch the expensive "gunstock" wax and use this product, you will be pleased and save money in the process.

Trewax
I’m not impressed with this was. I tried using my floor buffer for application. It did not apply well and I’m not liking the smell.Wish I had boughten the beeswax instead.

Five Stars
Really great for hardwood floor-looks like new, when the floor is actually 65 years old. Great product!
