Looking Beyond: A Teen's Guide to the Spiritual World

I am a Special education High School teacher, a hypnotherapist, Past Life Regressionist and like James Van Praagh, a psychic/medium. I have been asked by many parents and clients about their children and the subject of psychic abilities. I have found that many children are frightened by their innate abilities and so shut down or "vale over" denying their abilities. Often, I have heard them describe what most of us adults call "a gift" as a curse. James Van Praagh has written a very child friendly book, explaining a deep, complex and sometimes frightening subject in a very interesting way. If you have a child who shows interest in the field of Metaphysics, this is a good book to give them and you can gain good insight from it too.

I bought this book by mistake, thinking that this is for adults but turned out it is a teen's guide. I was going to give it away to a school library, but then decided to read through it. Alas, it is very simplified and summarized book on spirituality without any extra stuff! I've read many spiritual books, including the author's books, but I enjoyed this easy-read book and I'm an adult. I think this is great for any parents for teenager, then to recommend them to read it. This book teaches a teen value, morale, and trust, all generally good subject. Of course if you are open to spirituality, that is.

I bought this book for my mature 9 year old son who is a crystal child. He has been telling us about his guardian angels since he started talking. I previewed the book before I gave it to him because he's a little young for a teen book. There was only one page in the whole book that I thought was a little beyond him. He absolutely loves the book and it is helping him so much with his abilities. He has started meditating on his own!

This in a great book for anyone at any age. It is designed for teens who are just getting started on their own life, dreams and desires. The rules of life given in this book apply to all of us. I figured out most of the rules on my own but it would have been helpful to have this when I was younger.

I ordered this book from this company because they stated it was used but very good condition. It is not in very good condition. There are sentences that have been underlined with a black marker in a few areas of the book. The book has been stamped "Public Library, District of Columbia" on the edges. Also there are stickers on the back of the book that states this is a book from the Public Library. I don't consider this book is very good condition. I would consider it fair condition. I would not have ordered this book if I knew the true condition.

This book re-states a lot of what James VanPraagh writes in his other books, but explains it in a way a child/teen ager would be able to understand it. Very well done.

An introduction to understanding the 'greater spiritual world' of life. Some type formats were difficult to read but those sections are not necessary to glean the information from the book.

I bought this book but when i read through it I really had my expectations to high, it is really for high school children, did not really get much from it..
