desertcart.com: Classroom of the Elite (Light Novel) Vol. 1 eBook : Kinugasa, Syougo, Tomoseshunsaku: Kindle Store Review: Even Better than the Anime, but Price is Excessive - If you liked the anime then you'll like this. These light novels allow for more exploration into the characters and their backgrounds. This is obviously true for Ayanokoji, but there is even exposition for some of the other characters as well. As for Ayanokoji, it's the same character that we saw in the anime yet slightly different. The anime made him seem very robotic. His outer persona is still one of complete composure, but the LN also shows that he is human behind that mask. Parts of that human side are still very cold, but we get a better appreciation of how his mind works in the novels. The best part about the light novels though is that it continues the story beyond the first task where the anime ended, and things just become more intense with each new volume. As a warning. The writing style does sometimes make it confusing as to who is talking, but you get used to it after a while. The one big negative that I have isn't about the actual content, because the story and its characters are fantastic. The problem has to do with the series at large and the price/quantity of content that you get with your purchase. Each volume can easily be read in a single sitting (~250 pages), and the overall story is continuous (the anime season covers the first 3 volumes of LN's). Once you start then you won't want to stop. There are already 11 translated volumes available (including the in between volumes that tell side stories) ranging from $8-$10 each for the Kindle version with more on the way. So, you're looking at spending over $100 just to catch up on the story so far. I almost knocked a star off the review for this. The story is too great to do that, but fair warning that this is not a cheap endeavor. Review: Review - Seems interesting so far. The characters seem to be distinct and seem to each have their own secret problems and strengths. It’s going to be interesting to read more volumes and find out how they will get to class A

Yes
It is a good read, it has some subtext but not enough in this first chapter to make sense of the intelligent factor we are supposed to get.

Not what I expected, but in a good way
I already knew about the anime, but when I heard that the second season was coming out, I decided to read the books. I haven’t watched the anime, but I heard that there were a good amount of changes, so I wanted to read the books first, and i am glad I did. It certainly is worth a read, as it was hard to put down a lot of the times. I knew halfway through that I would buy the second book right away, and I did. Highly recommend for anyone who likes a good drama and cool characters. As well as a lot of tactical moves by the characters.

Great start
I came to read this after I saw the anime when it originally aired. I’ve gotta say, learning more about the characters and getting more of the mc’s inner monologue is a treat. He’s an interesting character to say the least. I’m curious to learn how much the anime deviated from the light novels. I’m sure I’m in for a fun ride.

Excellent Read
love that this is challenging the concept of there being only one route to success and that there are different types of intelligence not only academic
