This is my third can opener by this brand-My brother in law originally brought my first two from the UK where he’s from.Best brand by far!

We wore out two of these over the last 20 years. This one just doesn't cut it. It doesn't open correctly, the little gear teeth do not engage the can correctly, maybe off center since they work occasionally. To open a can you have to just keep cranking and cranking and eventually you will get there. Once the can is open, you are again stuck with the thing not opening to release the lid.All of that said, I will probably buy another one because we liked the first two so much.

I bought this because one that I had gotten from a yard sale exactly like it over 10 years ago was amazing. This one however is not. It does not work. Even slightly. Very disappointed!

Two of the older, original design which was very slightly different were previously owned, the oldest originally purchased by parents and later passed on while one was later purchased for personal use. After at least 20 years' of use each, they were only recently discarded when one from another brand, and supposedly highly-rated, was purchased as their successor. It proved less capable than claimed and quite dangerous with some cans where it created unexpected sharp edges on the sealed edges while not cleanly opening the can. The moral is clearly to stay with what is known to work.The "Culinare MagiCan Auto 2 Can Opener, white, 20 x 5 x 15 cm" is easy and safe to use, completely reliable and likely to last another 20 years or longer. It is also fairly priced.Probably one of the best manually-operated can openers currently available.

Had these back in the 80s. They're the best can openers. I've tried several over the years and this offers the best and easiest opening.
