The unit requires a bit of getting used to, and if you can add an extra 50% to the budget and get a better player from the budget reviewers lists, then that's what I'd advise.Perhaps the thing that bugs me most about the unit is that it is difficult to get to the menus. I have to go back multiple times before getting to the menu structure, and the wheel doesn't free-wheel control the volume... you have to go back to the top level menu, then in to the play menu, and then into AMP... and once in here you can change the volume. What this means is if you have a large collection which has various volume levels, then this will get very old, very fast.The unit doesn't have a dedicated "lock" button, but after the time out and the screen goes blank, it automatically goes into lock mode... and then it will only listen to the power button to unlock it. How this works depends on how you carry the player. Personally, I prefer a hard switch when I'm using a sports arm band.The amp isn't quite as powerful as the Xduoo X3 (Mk 1). To deliberately test the limit, the X3 will power my 1700 ohm HD-480 with room to spare, while the HP1 falls short. However, if you run a pair of 300 ohm HD-600 phones, the HP1 is perfectly comfortable. If you're like me and switch headphones depending on the music you're listening to, then as mentioned before, the menu-based volume level change will be unwelcome.Listening at home, the unit feels a little lifeless to the ears; but I'll be perfectly happy taking it out for a day walking in the country, where there's a risk of me slipping and breaking the unit; or around the city where the traffic is noisy and there's a chance of theft. If I'm going to stay in a hotel, however, I'll take my AK70 rather than this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money.
