Not only it prevents my cat from licking his front leg (he has a wound that needs to heal), but it helped him achieve new and unexpected ways to nap, something I thought he exhaust his options in.A few technical details - cat is a 13.5 lbs and size Small works well for him. With the collar on, he cant’s reach his face/ears or belly. He can reach the paws and some of the leg. If you turn the collar around (so the “opening” is on the back), it prevents my cat from reaching the front paws and legs entirely, but he can still reach some of his back paws, but not the legs. This might also vary depending on your cat’s built/flexibility, I have a domestic shorthair kitty. While this might not entirely replaced the regular cone, I can use it in most cases when the cat needs it on. And it doesn’t get in the way of him eating/drinking/sleeping or walking around.
