Works great for kids!
We bought these to replace the decrepit ones that came with our 2014 suburban ltz. They connected right away. I haven't listened through them long myself, so I don't know about the sound quality, but they operate easy enough for my 5 year old to independently turn on and off. I like that the ear pads are not foam; they seem like they will last longer. The pad will come off if a kid tries (ask me how I know, twice), but does go back on with some finesse and patience. One pair did get broken when a kid was carrying multiple things, tripped in the vehicle, and smashed them into a seat. Duct tape may have been sufficient (glue would not have held), but I liked them enough to buy a new pair.

My grandson loves his headset. It works great in the car, connection was easy as well.

Worth the investment!!
LOVE these headphones. Worth the investment. Made more sturdy than the ones that came with my 2011 Buick Enclave. Set-up was minimal. Just turned them on and they picked up the sound of the DVD player.. the cushions on the headphones are squishy; plenty comfortable for extended use. They are so worth the extra $10 compared to the other wireless car headphones on Amazon. So worth it! As far as sound quality, volume control and battery life, I cannot speak to those. My son uses them. So far, he’s had no complaints? So I take that as a good sign!

Satisfied enough to keep the kids happy; good enough to recommend. UPDATED
Really, this gets 3.5 stars, but let's round this up. For it to be a 5-star product, it would need to have these following attributes as well (IMHO): a> the design pop and upgraded look of a PURO brand headphone … however, that may not be a fair comparison as PURO only produces Bluetooth enabled headphones; b> softer/thicker ear cushions and the option of purchasing extra ones a la carte; c> the availability of color coded "skins" for purchase so that there is more than just black as the only option. But the kids (they are age 9 and 11) seem to find them comfortable enough. From my perspective, while it works, the look and feel reflects that of a $20'ish product - somewhat flimsy and aesthetically muted. On the other hand, there just aren't that many dual-channel IR phones you'll find in the Amazon-sphere anyway. The additional plusses here are that the headphones do "fold flat" to help save on space; you can adjust the headband's length (so it can fit around an adult's head or a kid’s head although the earpiece is a bit small for grown-ups); and there is an auto-off feature (which I haven't actually tested but did read about it in the description), so you get a lot of bang for a "double sawbuck." Although, I did wish that it came with a carrying case of some kind. What about the volume levels? Well, I purchased these IR headphones because I had just installed an in-headrest DVD system in my car. By using the tiny DVD headrest speakers and turning the volume up all the way (to setting #15), I'd say that the volume maxes out at about 65 db. When then plugging in the headphone using the included 3.5mm headphone jacks, the volume you'll hear mirrors at 65db. Even if you move the headphone's volume control/dial, the volume will remain at a constant 65 db. Weird, huh?. So, the decibel level when using the headphone jack will remain constant and equal to the decibel level of the DVD's speaker volume. But, you're buying this for its IR capability. And, it performs as expected. If the DVD headrest's setting is turned to "IR A" and your headphone is switched to Channel A, you'll have the wireless connection; if the DVD headrest's setting is turned to "IR B" and your headphone is switched to Channel B, you'll have the wireless connection. Interestingly though, when paired wirelessly, you can actually control the volume using the volume dial on your headrest. You can dial it all the way down to 0 decibels. But, weirdly, you can dial this all the way up to a point where it sounds to me like you're hitting the 100 db range. So, you may need to monitor at what levels your kids are listening because your kids can dial it up to unsafe listening levels. Sound quality? It's fine. No need for a lot of descriptors here. It works as advertised. I am satisfied enough, and it is good enough to recommend. UPDATE REVIEW on Jan 14, 2021 - The battery cover doesn't "slide" open intuitively. While this group has a YouTube video on how to open the battery cover, you should ignore it. The way that I did it was to slip my fingernails (my index and middle finger, using my left hand) in between the space between the battery cover and the earpiece (with my fingerprints facing me). Oh, do keep in mind that the battery cover is on the left earpiece. The instructions do not highlight this and you can't tell where the cover is by examining the headphones. Anyway, once I was able to slide my fingernails in a little bit, I could then “cause” the battery door to somewhat separate. Then, I continued to pull up on the battery cover (using just my two fingernails) gently while holding the entire earpiece with my right hand for support (as well, I placed my left thumb at the base of the cover so that my prying motion wouldn’t accidentally cause the cover to fly away). Voila! The battery cover came off.

Doesn't work in a 2017 Yukon Denali
I purchased because I saw a customer review that said they worked in a '17 Denali. They don't, only as wired headphones which when you buy because they are wireless is not any kind of consolation. I went back to the reviews when I couldn't get them to work and that review was gone. I used them as wired headphones on my computer a couple times and they work ok. Definitely kids size but decent sound output and not totally flimsy, decent for the price.

Great replacement headphones
These work in our 2020 Honda Odyssey. There are a few things I really like about them—if I’m in the front seat and need to adjust the volume on them, they will work up there. They are not draining the batteries either. They have a good fit on my daughter. So glad we found some that work in our van—and for a good price!

Does not work for 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
The UConnect brand wireless IR headphones that came with my Pacifica are not working well anymore and I was looking for a less expensive replacement. There were mixed reviews on here with some people having luck and others not able to use them. These do not work for the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica vans with the TVs on the driver and passenger seatbacks. We tried multiple settings and looked in the settings of the video player program itself, and they played no sound wirelessly. My son used one set for the trip we bought them for with direct 3.5mm audio jack connection, and that worked fine. But that defeats the purpose of the IR wireless system. Overall these seem like a really great option for anyone who has a vehicle they will work in. They adjust well and feel pretty sturdy. I really liked the fold-flat feature, so they could have been stored in the seatback pockets. Super bummed they wouldn't work for us.
