OEM Replacement Lens (For Repair) Screen Glass Lcd Blackberry Curve 8330

PROS:1. Cheap.CONS:1. This product does not have factory pre-installed adhesive on the screen itself. Save yourself time and money purchasing one that does, as no YouTube video has any instructions demonstrating how to replace a screen which isn't outfitted with pre-installed adhesive.2. No instructions included. My inquiry for help was answered by Phillip with this reply: "Unfortunately we do not have any technical expertise on this but I changed it once myself for my Blackberry. All you need to do is to cut apply (sic) little double sided stickers to the back corners of the lens (you can put a little on the sides as well if you would like) and stick it to your phone. There is no additional instructions needed for this item." It is impossible to cut a strip 1/16th-inch wide to install along the sides of the screen so now there are gaps which will allow dust and dirt to infiltrate underneath!3. Be aware that you MUST cut the adhesive to size before removing either side of its protective covering, and even then, good luck keeping it from rolling onto itself while installing.4. No customer service except for Amazon-mediated email ONLY. No phone number, return address, website, or email contact information provided with shipment or online.5. ANY adhesive that unfortunately adheres to itself MUST be cut away before installing or the screen WILL crack. I had a shattered screen I wanted to replace that now has a broken lower-right corner after installing because of this unknown.I cannot tell you how much time and energy I've wasted online researching videos, searching for customer service contact information, etc. in my attempt to learn how to replace my broken screen, all because there were no instructions included and NO videos online that use the type of adhesive as provided. That a small error on my part resulted in trading one broken screen for another because of vendor deficiencies is just icing on the cake. I've included my problems and advice on the hope that other customers have their concerns answered proactively, because apparently Phonil can't even give that much up front in their product description.If I could give zero stars, I would. I'm absolutely livid that so much time, energy, and money has been wasted to effectively trade one broken screen for another.

I broke the "lens" about 3 months ago and went to the cell phone store where I purchased it. They said it would be $100 in order to replace it. I went ahead and did so because I needed my phone for work. Got a refurb (yeah, I was suckered in) and had it for about two months. Then, it broke again. I decided to Google replacing it and felt stupid when I saw videos on Youtube, OEM products on Amazon, and DIY solutions.This comes off incredibly easy and yes it will break. I had a scratch resistant film on it which held everything together as it broke. I pried around the entire plastic and it popped off.Next, place the 3M film on the new lens. Remove the brown paper from the film to reveal the 2nd side of the sticky film. Place it on the cell phone and that's it!Things to watch out for:1. Breaking the plastic as you remove it could pierce the LCD. Take caution when removing it.2. Watch those fingerprints! I'm stuck looking at a fingerprint every time I look at my cell phone because I didn't observe it when I placed it on the LCD. Have an LCD cloth ready to wipe off any unwanted prints.Hope it helps!

I bought this for my BB Curve 8330. I cracked the lens that protects the LCD screen. Local cell phone repair shops wanted [...]. I think the phone is only worth about [...], if I were to try and sell it. SO I looked online for OEM parts and found this. It arrived very quickly.The tricky part is removal and installation of the piece.To remove the old one I used a guitar pick. You can buy one at any music shop for about $0.50 (cents). be sure to get a firm and thin pick. OR but this compelte cell phone repair kit for less than [...] [...].Once you pry off the old, broken lens, clean up the area with a cotton swab and alcohol. Here comes the trick part: removing the film from the pre-cut glue sticker. This is double sided sticky! remove one side, stick it onto the lens, remove the other side and stick the lens onto the phone.If you mess it up, don't panic. Just get some super glue and VERY CAREFULLY, apply a little bit on the cell phone or lens and stick the lens back on. Easy to do and inexpensive!

My active two-year-old son tried to toss my Blackberry Curve 8330 to me and hit the edge of the coffee table, of course breaking the plastic screen in the process (and of course it was not the first electronic item I have had to fix). It was not suggested to me until my third trip to the Verizon store that I could simply replace the screen rather than buy a newer model. I received my replacement screen within a couple days of ordering it and it was one of the easiest replacements I have ever done. I simply used a very small screwdriver to pry the old screen from the phone. Once that was gone, it was a simple process of removing the cover from the adhesive on the back of the new screen and snapping it into place on the phone. It was so simple to do and was a much preferred alternative to purchasing a new Blackberry outside of the contract renewal date.

I'm thankful for the low price and the product itself. Like all the reviewers on here say, it doesn't come with an instructional video. It would be nice if in the product description, it tells you exactly which youtube video to view the installation. To make it easy on future customers, I used this video: [...]I did not use any special tools, I just used a very small flat screwdriver and a knife. Main thing to remember, cut out the middle part before starting. It will save you time. This was not easy to install because I was nervous. It took trial and error and I was carefull with my fingerprints.
