The lack of quality is jaw dropping
I refuse to believe that the author actually wrote this drivel. It has all the effort of a rushed first draft done by a first year college student who pushed it under his teacher's door after hours. Mr. Patterson would do well to find better ghost writers or at least give them a bit of constructive critism now and then. . The plot is contrived with logic holes a bus would disappear into. It has a twist that makes zero sense. And it's barely long enough to qualify as a novella. Pro tip: 4 paragraphs do not make a chapter. In short; this is god awful. I want my $13 bucks and two hours back.

UGH! Sick of these "duo" Authors!
I've been a fan of James Patterson's writings since his first book. This, I'm, stuff cannot be written by JP*. If he truly wrote this drivel, then it's time for him to take a nice break...from writing!!JP*, you're so busy helping other authors get established, for which you are to be commended, that your OWN material is suffering! Badly! 'The Store' is tired and boring. A lot of unnecessary characters. A storyline that's been over done. An ending you can see coming from miles away.A Jacob writes a book and is turned down. He goes to the Store and is also turned down. Boo Hoo! Angry about it Jacob writes a "Tell All" 'bout the Store.Store finds out and trouble ensues: they've got cameras/people/listening devices etc. everywhere! Scared, Jacob moves his to a new State/City. Stepford City to be exact. (BORING) From there it gets worse.Skip this book or, go to the last two chapters and be done!Stephen King, John Sandford, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, Sandra Brown, Mary Higgins Clark etc., I can't wait to read your new books! Why? Because I "know" they were written by you!!JP*, it's time to Stop the Madness!

Terrible book
I am reading this right now and only because I paid $13.99 for it. What a waste of money, not only hard to believe but boring and characters are plastic. I wish I had read the reviews before buying it but I travel trusted the Patterson brand. BIG MISTAKE!

Don't waste your money!
I thought I was reading a Stephen King novel. At least for about half of it. In fact, I can't even believe I finished it. Sorry folks. Don't waste your money or your time. That's hours I'll never get back. The whole ending just didn't fit. In fact, most of it didn't make sense. Better luck next time, Mr Patterson.

Avoid at all cost.
Absolutely the worst Patterson book I have ever read. Must have been written by a high school dropout.

so bad
This book was basically about Google taking over people's lives. Save your time and your money and skip this one. It's a bad dystopian novel.

Pretty Stupid
No reason for a long review. This book was stupid and a huge waste of time. Don't bother even trying.

A good read
Being a fan of the author I look forward to reading his standalone books. This one brings us a world which, ultimately, could one day happen. Given our love of all things internet it is a very plausible idea. The Store has taken over from high street shops by using drones to deliver anything and everything a consumer could desire. By keeping track of people’s habits, from shopping to personal relationships, The Store can tailor the shopping experience to each individual customer. But is the level of scrutiny too much?Going undercover as employees of The Store, Jacob and Megan delve into the inner workings of the company. They plan to write a book exposing it to the world for its bad practices and extreme working measures. All does not go to plan, however, and the reader is led to believe that things are going totally wrong for Jacob in particular. The final ‘reveal’ though throws everything totally out of the water, and is what made the book so good in my opinion.A great read for fans of the author.

Big brother gets commercial
This is a page turner and, right up to near the end, was up to James Patterson's standards in his earlier daysThe difference in this book from previous cop stories and thrillers is that the subject matter is commerce and the way that major online monopolies are shaping our buying habits. In this look into the not-to-distant future the "Store" polices consumer behaviour, not just in what they buy but in how they act and what they think. It is up to Jacob Brandeis and his family to investigate and divulge the operations of the sinister organisation in the form of a book called "twenty twenty".There are overt parallels drawn in the narrative between this storyline and that in George Orwell's "1984". So, this is a new approach for James Patterson and I would congratulate him on it.Having said that, it's 3 stars rather than 4 or 5 because of the hurried finish to the book. There is a twist at the end but it stills leaves the reader with the feeling that there was a tight publishing deadline for the authors to meet with their minds already on their next money-making project.

I would skip reading this if you want to be bored
I read and ignored the negative reviews when I should not have. This does not even sound like James Patterson I know he wrote it with Richard. The characters some of them were believable but the story and plot was very thin. I did not find it enjoyable. Wished I had it out of the library and not bought the book myself. Left too many unanswered questions so you really did not know the result .

Wasnt impressed with this book
I have to say when i started reading this book I was hoping it would be exciting as most of James Patterson books are, he is my favourite author and I was bored with this title, I read a few pages and I just could not get on with it, Boring, I like a book that starts with that 'OMG' then you won't want to stop reading, in the end I gave it to the local charity book shop. Sorry!!

Very Interesting
Jake is concerned about The Store. A new way of shopping that predicts your needs and wants. They spy on you everywhere. He goes undercover, what will The Store do?An interesting and gripping read from James Patterson. It was quite a short book so I read it in one sitting. The characters were great and well developed. The story quite spine chilling at times. A must read for fans of Patterson’s stand alone books.
