Quickly, I realized it was way to small for our flock of 5 and I purchased a larger enclosure to put the coop in. I've had it over a year (purchased April 2020) and so far I have had to caulk all of the seams because water leaked in, put a latch on the lid so nothing could get into it at night, and replace the top (not the lid). The hens tore the divider up that split the nesting box into 2 within a couple months (it's honestly glorified cardboard). The slide out piece meant to make the coop easier to clean doesn't clean well as it seems that the chickens' urine and fecal matter eats the finish and causes it to oxidize. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING SHAVINGS OR SOMETHING ELSE TO MAKE IT EASY TO CLEAN. Im currently looking at building a frame to sit it on to get it up off the ground and add more room for nesting boxes. The product description (Outdoor chicken coop made from solid, painted fir wood Hinged, waterproof roof with polycarbonate panels for insulation) These misleading statements are leading you to believe that the coop is made out of "Solid, painted fir wood" but in reality are mostly plastic with the only actual wood used is the white painted trim. Everything else—the entire gray section—is made from an extremely thin polycarbonate, not wood. The thin polycarbonate panels would most likely crack in a thunderstorm, leaving my chickens completely soaked. The construction is blatantly inadequate and absolutely worthless junk. If you care about your chickens’ safety and comfort, steer clear of this coop.
