Love my fireplace!
This is a beautiful addition to my living room. I have it under my television, and I don't really use the heat feature. The heat feature works well, but I just like the ambient effect. The flame is adjustable and not distracting. Works on a remote, so I can sit and watch tv and adjust the flame. Makes my living room feel cozy. Considering buying another one for my dining room. The shelves are triangular and don't hold much, but they are the perfect showcase place for my Willow statues. No more than two pieces of audio/visual technology will fit in the compartment above the heat component. It came in two boxes, so they were reasonably manageable to move around. Put it together all by myself rather quickly, and it did not require any Herculean feats of strength to do so. One of the boxes was a lot heavier than the other, and the carrier just dumped them on my front porch while I was at work. That was my only complaint. Pretty ivory color. It is not white. It is cream. I have this unit flush against a straight wall. The corner conversion piece is hinged to the back of the unit and is retractable, so you can attach it for later movement to a corner if you are initially keeping it along a straight wall. I removed the corner conversion board because it was difficult to feed my technology wires through the hole in the back of the unit while the corner converter was attached. The conversion piece is a little flimsy. Overall, the unit is pretty solid.

Warm, toasty, and elegant
This product is everything I wanted. We have a converted attic bedroom with very little insulation, and the heat downstairs does not reach it. This looks like a fireplace nestled between two glass cabinets, it holds our 42" TV on top, and it fits right into a corner of the room near our bed to keep us toasty all night. Our attic is big (pretty much the length of the entire house), and it does not heat all the way to the far side of it, but it warms the room-sized portion nearest it all night. Once you set it to a certain temperature, it will turn itself on and off automatically to maintain the temperature (we use 68 most nights, up to 72 on really cold nights). The blowers are not as powerful as I would have expected, but they still do the job I need it to do. The wood looks very nice next to our hard wood floors, and the fireplace has adjustable brightness for the flames and the logs (5 settings). The logs don't turn off completely when the heat is on, so that you remember it is on, but the flames can be turned off. I was very hesitant to pay this much money for something that might have been junk, but I'm so glad we did. The warmth is worth the high cost. It took us about 3 hours to put it together, all told. It wasn't difficult or frustrating, just a lot of parts to put in the right places.

Really pretty fireplace, but ugly flames
I wanted an off-white fireplace, and this was the prettiest one I found. It has a nice shape, with the angled sides, and doesn't take up a lot of room. It wasn't too bad to put together - two middle-aged arthritic women put it together in about 2.5 hours, without difficulty. It was well drilled and fit the way it should, with only slight jiggling. The back piece, that allows it to fit in a corner, is a very nice addition and works the way it should. For the most part, I'm very pleased. Which brings me to the cons: the color is cream, but it leans strongly toward the yellow side of cream, not the white side. So the color is a little off from what I'd like, and I may need to paint it later. And the big con is that the flames are not attractive at all. They are small, and only come in orange, there are no blue flames or variability, and the highest setting of flame is not very high at all. I'll probably try to find a different insert that will fit in this cabinet. My previous fireplace had really nice flames, so I know it's possible.

Looks Great
This arrived in 2 cartons. The furniture carton is heavy, weighing about 90 pounds. There were no missing or damaged parts. No tools are included so you will need a Philips and a straight screwdriver. I put this together by myself and working carefully took about 4 hours from opening the carton to plugging it in. There were no nasty surprises as all holes and pegs lined up perfectly. The doors open and close freely without any binds. The fireplace carton weighs about 30 pounds and slides in when the cabinet is complete. The flame has 5 brightness settings. The log glow also has 5 brightness settings. The flame color is realistic with shades of yellow. The fireplace operates silently except when the heater is on. The heater blower does make a little fan noise. The glass does not get hot but the grill over the glass does. The side cabinets have limited storage space because of the angled design. I have mine along a wall and it does come with a filler piece should you choose to put yours in a corner. I have a 48" TV on top and it looks just great. My friends and relatives have commented on how nice the cabinet/TV setup look. As for the shelf; while not very wide, it's large enough for my cable box and DVD player. There may be some questions where it's made and like many things nowadays, it is made in China.
