I use for piercing sterling silver sheets from 18 to 22 gauge. Good for fine detail work. The blade will thread through a hole drilled with a .45mm bit.Beware, because they are nearly as fine as a hair, you can't make your saw as tight as thicker blades. I snapped the first 3 blades just mounting them. I purchased these as a standard to which I could compare the generic blades sold at a fraction of the price. I don't believe these are made in Switzerland; or by Pike. The seller claims they are "12 blades from within the Pike packaging". But they're shipped in a plastic bag. There are no markings on the blades; and there is nothing to authenticate the origin of this product. As such they are indistinguishable from the cheaper generic blades. Under the circumstances, I'm skeptical. This is what I'm going to do; I'm going to use the generics. If I'm disappointed, then I'll try these. The only way I'll buy these again is if I'm disappointed with the generics, and these prove to be significantly better. It is October 2018.
