Works exactly as it should. Definitely worth every penny and more.
This laminate cutter works exactly as described. I bought it due to an independent demonstration/recommendation from a contractor I follow on Youtube, Jeff Thorman (?) from Home Renovision DIY. Yes, it says "cutter", but it doesn't cut traditionally, like a sharp blade would do. It crushes through the board at the point you need to make your "cut". It will not be pristine. Do not sharpen it. It is not a paper cutter. It does take some force. My laminate was in the upper-middle in terms of thickness, but using this was fairly easy as long as I was standing and had leverage. If I were on the floor, which after laying a lot of laminate, you want to do, because it can be exhausting, it was much more difficult. Leverage is the key. And a little weight. My petite wife was able to cut a few, but it was with effort and asked I do the remainder of the project. However, if you are petite, get yourself a 12" pipe or longer, with a large enough diameter to fit the Roberts handle and it will be quite simple to operate, I am sure. The "BLADE" - It is NOT supposed to be a sharp blade. Some commenters say they sharpened it. Doesn't make sense, it is not needed and probably will ruin it if not right away, certainly long term. You don't need pristine cuts when doing laminate floating floors. The idea is that the "rough cut" ends will be covered by molding and/or quarter round. TIME SAVER - This cutter saves a ton of time over using a saw. Laminate throws off tons of dust, so you'd want the saw outside, which has multiple negatives. One, you keep going in and out of the house to make a cut. Two, you should wear a mask, which you'll likely pull on and off going in and out of the house. Three, weather could be a problem. Four, the mess. Easier to clean up chunks than laminate saw dust everywhere. This cutter, you leave right in the room and make your cuts. Makes the job quicker, simpler and less of a hassle. VINYL PLANK - Some wonder if it will cut vinyl. The Youtuber I mentioned earlier did cut vinyl plank with it and gave it a thumbs up for that, but, I wouldn't bother. I had two styles of laminate that I put down in another part of the house...one was Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) which was semi rigid (And by far the easiest to lay down). The other was Engineered Vinyl Plank (EVP) and had solid, rigid core. Both were easily cut by the score and snap method with a utility knife. No need for the Roberts cutter, when a utility knife is even easier, particularly if your speed square is large enough to cover the plank, which most would be. No need to buy the $300 cutters if you're only remodeling your home and/or maybe loaning it out to a friend, relative or two. This gets the job done at a very inexpensive price. Completely worth it.

Life saver
I am so glad I took a chance and purchased this. It works perfectly. The last time we laid laminate wood floors we had to keep running back and forth to cut the end pieces. What a pain! Well now we have about 1300 square feet to lay and this has paid for itself after just one room. If you follow the instructions, it cuts perfect pieces (the edges will be a touch rough, but those are hidden by baseboards so it doesn't matter). It does take some muscle though. I admit that my husband does the cutting since he's got more upper body strength, and he has to lean into it pretty good but has said it beats the pants off having to run back and forth like last time. Note however that it doesn't cut all types of what may at first glance be laminate wood. While we were waiting for our flooring to be delivered we tested it out on a spare piece of leftover flooring laid by the prior owners, and were dismayed when it wouldn't cut. That particular flooring turned out to be 10mm engineered walnut rather than the less dense 10mm laminate flooring we are using.

This product is very good for the money and what it does
This product is very good for the money and what it does. It cuts clean and no noise. I had to return it just because it requires a men power to cut laminate. I am 30 years old and 120 pounds and managed to make just 2 cuts. I also like that it cuts right on the marked line unlike circular saw. Circular saw is easy to cut with but it is very hard to get a strait cut. I would recommend to buy this cutter to people if you are much stronger then me. 4 stars not because the product quality is bad just because it is not for everyone.

I would like it better if it cut straight
I bought this to put in LVP in my master bathroom. I originally tried cutting them with a razor blade, but it wasn’t nearly enough to cut through the LVP, so I ordered this device. The cutter technically did cut through the LVP with somewhat of an effort, but mine was assembled crooked so it did not cut straight, which was more than frustrating and made me waste more planks than I wanted. Planks are pricey so I wasn’t happy to waste.

It saves so much time and clean up.
When delivered I checked it out and found the brace piece out of square to the blade. I checked the manual and found no way mentioned to adjust either. Called the 1-800 number in the manual and talked to a rep. He said sorry, return it to the seller. I use it as the cut ends that are out of square are only 3/64th for the 7 1/2” pieces I was cutting. Also those cut ends are covered under the baseboard moulding so not really a major problem. The cutter works but is not as easy as some might suggest. I find it requires some effort to cut all the way through but isn’t terrible to do so. I do stand on the base of the back legs to use the lever so that my weight keeps the cutter steady and makes it easier to push the lever downward. There are so cuts were the cut ends are a bit rough. I need to reinforce the fact that those ends are under the baseboard. I use a utility knife and scrape it along the edge to clean it up a bit anyway. It will not cut pieces over 8” from back piece to the cutting edge. It does cut at least a 1/4” swath from the stock so your pieces per row may suffer as opposed to using a miter or table saw. However using this cutter and not having the sawdust to clean up after I felt was a great benefit.

A must have, order with confidence
Wow!!! Just what I needed; so easy to cut with. I've ordered it yesterday (Sunday) and got it this morning. Great seller, great product and incredibly fast shipping. Highly recommended. I finished laying laminate in one bedroom in an hour (the room was already prepped). The laminate was 7 mm. Update on 01/11/16 - I just started the living room and this laminate is 10 mm with padding. It's really hard to cut it with this cutter. The laminate comes out of the place it supposed to stay in when being cut. I have to push all my body weight on the cutter, and sometime I hit it repetadly with my foot. It still cuts, but with greater effort. The way I look at it, I only need to use it for the ends so only need to cut about 20 planks. Still a very helpful product and I'm glad I made this purchase. Great alternative to jigsaw or circular saw (i bought those also, but haven't use it yet).

Works great!
I've used this to install about 300 square feet of laminate. It works great and makes it easy to just lay a sheet down and cut the laminate inside the house with very little mess and no dust to deal with. Make sure to get a sharpening stone and keep the blade sharp otherwise it will be hard to cut the laminate and take a lot of down force and the cuts will not be as clean Pros: -No mess cutting laminate inside the house -Easy to sharpen blade -Cuts are accurate and straight Cons: -It only makes straight cuts across the width of the plank -If you are making cuts that will be visible (not hidden by baseboard) then this might not be the best cutter. Chop saw would be a better bet.

not good by any means but it works for the $
2 1/2 stars to be fair with the cost considered. Sloppy handle that is too short. Predrilled threaded holes to attatch fence are not drilled square with the frame. The blade more or less smashes the laminate in which the tongue and groove sides are damaged into the save piece about 1in regardless of what you do. The cutter works, and it is quiet, Bt that is all I can say.

Buena pero
Me agrado su funcionamiento es como lo esperaba hace los cortes rápidos y limpios pero, pero, pero, faltó la opción de cortes longitudinales pero bueno eso sería un plus que la haría una herramienta pro.

Great item, better then the $250 ones from home depot
Excellent price! We used it for vinyl plank flooring. Extremely easy to cut with minimal mess to clean up. We have purchased a $250 brand name cutter from Home Depot in the past and it broke! This one has cut over 1000sqft of vinyl plank flooring and is still going strong. Worth the money!

Super handy tool to have.
This tool made flooring our house so much quicker and easier. Cutting the boards wasn’t too difficult, though it did require a bit of upper body strength. A female in their 20s was able to cut boards using this tool.

Good Quality
Only used on inexpensive laminate flooring but up to 8mm with a 2mm rubber back. Not super clean cuts but easier and faster than sawing.
