As I was shaking the bottle after about 1 minute, I could see the chunky glitters and shimmers moving easily in the bottle of polish again. I had some trouble trying to get the product into my nail polish bottles, only because I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve never used this before or any nail polish thinner before, only seen others use this product. There is no smell to this product and although it does take a bit of practice to get this polish thinner into the nail polish bottle, I would overall buy this product again. It can only be used for regular only. Thanks. **Q: Can this be used with non-Orly nail polish brands?** A: I used it with Revlon, Princess Livia, Diandra, Arabella Stewart, Cadette, Jean Michelle & Nail Fantasies, some solid, some with shimmer or frosted, and it did just fine with all. Except for the Revlon, all the other brands were sent to me from monthly sample kits. I found about 20 old bottles from at least 20 years ago and thought I would give it a try. I have no idea, other than the Revlon, if any of those brands are still being sold, but right now I an wearing the polish today and only needed about a drop (2 at most) per bottle. I did let mix it up and let it sit for a while before trying to use. I did not need to try it with any of the newer Gel polishs, so I can't help you there. I did hear many years ago, however, that you should not thin polish with polish remover. Considering what the remover does to my nails after I remove polish I can't imagine what having remover in the polish would do since it stays on, with me, for a couple weeks. Good Luck. **Q: can I use this to clean brushes?** A: I would not use this to clean brushes. Use acetone to clean brushes or a brush cleaner. Then wash the brush in water and soap. When the brush is dry, put some cuticle oil on it and smooth it to the right shape. **Q: this has the same ingredients as OPI thinner...which one is better? OPI is cheaper!** A: They are both very good. It is every ounce as good as the more expensive "name brand." It does its job: thins out your THICK, clumpy 😍FAVORITE❤ nail polish, making it usable & functional again! WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR?!! [Actually, you could ask for MORE; that's towards the end of my Review! Lol] TIPS:. ▪︎DON'T drop TOO MANY drops in your fav polish bottle initially bc you DON'T want to thin it out too much ▪︎Drop just a FEW drops at first, then check for the nail polish's "consistency" ▪︎Shake your nail polish bottle vigorously between sets of drops ▪︎If still too thick, add a few more drops ▪︎Check consistency (thickness) again ▪︎"Rinse & Repeat," figuratively speaking, of course! Lol, until you get the PERFECT consistency that YOU prefer▪︎No doubt, the neck & rim of your nail polish bottle accumulates gunk, (thick, hardened polish) as does the inside of the brush itself, making it hard to open & close that bottle; TIME TO CLEAN IT! ▪︎Turn your brush over & drop a few drops into the recess of the brush where it connects to the inside of the bottle top/cover ▪︎Let sit for about 10-15 seconds in there, while it softens any hardened gunk▪︎Use a Q-tip (cotton swab) & swab any thick gunk out ▪︎You may have to do it a few times, so keep multiple Q-tips handy while you're doing this ▪︎Repeat till clean/clear of gunk on your brush, from the very top, to your brush end ▪︎Use another swab to clean any accumulated gunk on the outside neck & rim of that bottle ▪︎You may also drop a few drops on a paper towel & wipe away any gunk on the neck/rim, BUUUT... ▪︎... You gotta be QUICK, bc the liquid will evaporate very quickly on your paper towel!!! ▪︎Also, before re-capping & storing your polish, be sure to check if any Q-tips left any teeny-tiny, thin cotton fibers behind! If so, clean it out, fish it out, etc. Lastly: this "stuff" is great for removing pen, ink, Sharpie marks, or other stains from other "stuff" you love, or "stuff" that just needs to be cleaned. ⚠️WARNING:⚠️ Just be sure to check for color-fastness FIRST, or the effect of this thinner (cleaner) on the object you're thinking of cleaning.
