Unfortunately, she was so engrossed in the race that she forgot to put them on in the rope climb, just after she waded through waist height water. She did not have them on for fear of getting them wet. She definitely should have worn them at that point, but lesson learned. She wore them after that since there was a lot of carrying, throwing, swinging, climbing....you name it, she did it. And the gloves were perfect. The gave decent wrist support, they did not feel too hot, and gave her hands plenty of protection. She will be wearing them in a few months for her next race. They were not very expensive for what you get.
