It reminds me of Paramhansa Yogananda’s classic Autobiography of a Yogi—not too surprising, I suppose, as Kriyananda was a leading direct disciple of Yogananda. As with Yogananda’s autobiography, Kriyananda’s accounts in this book made me feel as though I were there with him, and that he was a humble seeker when in fact he was highly advanced himself. It's so rare and refreshing to see a saint's detailed account of his/her private times with other saints. These stories are so varied and fascinating, full of the spiritual wisdom shared by his hosts as well as his own insights into their lives, their teachings, and the spiritual path in general.
