I purchased this product because I suffered 3rd degree burns on my hand and forearm and as a nurse I know healing begins at the cellular level, however, topical agents can help healing as well as nutrition. This product has zinc, which aids in wound healing. It also does not have petrolatum that would inhibit wound healing. Products with more than 40% petrolatum inhibit cellular migration, making it difficult for new skin cells to regenerate and are not appropriate for burns especially. I used this wound cream several times per day once my wounds had mostly closed (after about 2 weeks), I did NOT use on open deep areas but rather fragile areas of new scar growth to prevent the skin from cracking and breaking open. It helped tremendously and I still use for moisturizing those areas. It is a bit greasy but not so much if you don't overuse, a little goes a very long way. Definitely recommend.

Amazing relief. I have extremely dry skin on my feet with deep cracks. Nothing has helped. This stuff is great, I put it on before bed with my feet socks & in the morning there is a 50% improvement.

I bought this product after losing all hope. I suffer from rosacea. While on vacation it flailed up. It hurt, was bright red and I had itchy pimples all over my face. I called my dermatologist. She told me that I was already using sulfur cream and taking a mild antibiotic. She said there was nothing else to do. I refused to accept that. I went online in search of something to protect my skin from the sun that wouldn't make my skin have a reaction, enter zinc oxide. I learned about the healing effects as well as the sunscreen effect. I found this product that only contains 3 ingredients. Three ingredients that are gentle to the skin. I figured I had nothing to lose but a few bucks. After receiving the salve I put it on my face that night and again the next morning. My face cleared up incredibly in 1 day!!! Something my doctor said wasn't possible. I have since ordered 2 more jars, giving one to a friend that suffers with acne. I can't say enough positive things about this product. This product was not initially what I was really browsing for. I was actually looking for something more like a topical cream, perhaps because that's the only products I've used containing zinc. But after just one just one use I loved this product! What initially caught my attention about this product in particular was the more simplified ingredients listed they boasted. Ensuring that I'm using and offering only the very best and most naturally inclined products to my 4 children has become a top priority in the 11 years since first becoming a mom. Just a couple photos in and the producer also let's the consumer know the product was made with "tlc" right her within the USA and in effort to check all the boxes they let you also know that the product is crafted in small batches to ensure the perfect finished product. Support a localized vendor as they live the dream, as well as get double assured the product I'm buying will meet the high standards I expect of it? Yes please! The producer of the salve included in the "instructions" the recommendation of heating up the salve to melt it and then apply it. Just for the sake of doing so, I tried applying the salve in both contexts. The thickness of the shea butter is undeniable. Let me put it like this, You won't want to use this salve in any other way than to melt it into a warm and creamy (something similar but oh so much better than) body oil consistency. Once it's to that point you can use it anywhere and for so many different things! My 3 year old happened to have a rash on the back of his knee that was itching him the day this arrived and he let me apply this to it and never complained about it again that day! And this being a child who has real and outspoken discomforts concerning certain smells, textures and feelings. As a server (especially one during times like these) I wash my hands ALOT! Alot is actually an understatement. lol. My hands are really dry and I'm very hard on them leading to cuts and scratches that only seem to get worse before they get better because of all the hand washing. Good bacteria is what allows our skin to heal itself.. but not if it's completely dried out! I love the feeling of applying this warm creamy salve to my tired skin and I also love the long lasting way it makes me feel so moisturized as, while and even after it's soaked in.
