Kinda disappointed
Updating 11/14/25: Company messaged me and offered full refund after seeing this review. I was going to accept. Then discovered these are 1.2v not 1.5v. I automatically assumed voltage was same in AA and AAA batteries. Rechargeables are different. My bad. Outstanding customer service deserves 5 star and batteries are working great now that I understand. Kinda disappointed in how long charge last. I bought a bunch of various sizes based on an extensive youtube review. They sure seem to poop out pretty quickly compared to non renewable major brands. They do charge to their full voltage measured on my multi-tech.

Long life batteries
This past Christmas of 2023 I have decided to do something different. We have no streetlights and our yard is very dark until the spotlight goes on. Being here for 13 years we have never set up Christmas lights outdoors, mainly due to the cost of electricity. Well, to brighten up this past Christmas and future Christmases I invested in solar-powered Christmas lights in various sizes that have Ni-MH rechargeable batteries varying from 400-1200mAh. The downside of these lights is that they carry the lowest capacity batteries that operate the lights for the advertised run time. In the majority of the 14 sets of lights, these did not meet the advertised run time. That is mainly due to the lack of 6 full sun recharge time required. In my area, that is impossible due to tree shade in the summertime, and in the winter when there are no leaves the sun peeks through in and out the tree trunks and branches so these lights don't get that full sun necessary to operate for at least 6 hrs advertised. I had lights in this scenario operate only for 1-3 hours. Another downside is cloudy days. On cloudy days mine as well forget the lights. The solution was to get replaceable Powerowl Ni-MH batteries with much higher capacity and a Powerowl recharger. I got 32 AA2800mAh to replace the batteries that ranged from 400-1200mAh. The new 2800m batteries after fully charging them in the house stayed on all night until the daylight turned off the lights. The following day there was very little sun but these lights stayed on another night until daylight turned them off. I got another set of 32 batteries and hold it as a backup this way I will always have a full supply to replace all batteries in 14 sets of lights. I also wanted to utilize the batteries that came with the lights and started to recharge them. I had 8 400mAh and the recharging indicator red light was blinking. Not knowing what that meant I reached out to the support at Powerowl and asked why the indicator light was blinking. Their first suspicion was the batteries were too low of a capacity at 400. To confirm this they asked to send a picture of those batteries. After reviewing the pictures the company responded quickly stating that these were too low of a capacity and they felt sorry that I could not use these batteries with their recharger but to keep a customer happy they offered to send 8 AA2800mAh as a consolation for my troubles free of charge. Additionally, the rechargeable batteries have improved greatly. The older versions of rechargeables were limited by their memory. The new rechargeables have no memory and these can be recharged as much as 500 times. With the cost of other brand-name, batteries range anywhere from $1.50 per battery in a pack. The rechargeable batteries cost about the same per battery but the brand name once they run out we throw them away while the rechargeable can be recharged and keep on going. I plan to convert all brand-name throwaway batteries in all devices that have batteries in the house and never buy a brand-name battery.

POWEROWL Batteries : long lasting power + slow drain time = you'll be pleased!
Who doesn't need batteries, right....?!? Ironically, I purchased the WRONG, SIZE....as I purchased these while I was away from the item(s) that I was initially purchasing them for: space saver -cabinet lights! (We have over 20 lights [4X batteries in each]) throughout our RV, and the cabinets/utility spaces in our home. Nevertheless, we needed AAA BATTERIES, but as I mentioned, earlier; I purchased the AA batteries,...AT FIRST!! Well,...after realizing my mistake, I went ahead and purchased the correct ones; AAA! But never fear, for as I asked; WHO DOESN'T NEED BATTERIES,...RIGHT...?! The AA batteries were used in 2 of our HIGH LUMEN,...handheld & portable flashlights,...as well as several of our remote controls (T.V.'s, stereos, peripherals, etc.) The POWEROWL brand offers PLENTY of value for your money! Lots o' power! Slow drain/discharge. Super easy & quick recharging times, too! Definitely can't go wrong, here!.

Not as good as the reviews suggest / Customer Servide
After researching I paid a premium for these batteries and wanted to say these batteries donโt hold a charge very long and some wonโt even charge anymore. Iโve charged them only twice. Iโve only had these batteries for 5 months. UPDATE: The company reached out to me and sent me another package of batteries as a replaced. Fantastic customer service. Thanks!!

Good product and holds a change for a while
I use these for my gaming equipment and work equipment - last a long time and holds a change better than my other rechargeable batteries. Does not heat up too much during charging, fits AA slots easily.

Great product for the price
I was a little skeptical because of the price but after much use these batteries have preformed very well. I use them a lot in my Xbox controller and for other everyday items that require batteries. The really nice feature that I didn't even think was a big deal at the time was the ability to charge both AA and AAA batteries together in the same charger. Extremely convenient. Every time I am in the store and I see those big packs of batteries I am always reminded how expensive that was and kind of mad at my self I didn't purchase this earlier.

Didn't even last a year with very light usage
So based on product reviews and the amount of them I purchased these and triple a battery types of power owl along with the power owl branded charger. I might have recharged all of the batteries maybe a handful of times, not more than 5 or 10 since their only intended use was Xbox controller batteries and remotes for TV's around the house. When I got the batteries, I didn't use them right away I fully charged them. Initially, all was well but after a few uses I noticed they died very quick and their rating (mah) was higher than eneloop, azon basics, and other rechargeable batteries unless you specifically looked for really high powered rechargeable batteries. Anyways not even a year later they are practically unusable for Xbox controllers since I'll put a pair in and maybe an hour or less later they will die, and when I put a pair of triple a iny Roku TV remote it immediately flashes the battery low icon on the TV and says 1 bar of energy. Mind you these are fresh off the official power owl charger, fully charged and reading a green light. They don't last, they don't hold a charge, they haven't lasted a year and I don't even use the double a anymore and the triple a would give a tv remote maybe a few days of use (which is insanely light use.. it's a tv remote ). I've given up on them and last night ordered a new charger that is an actual wall plug not USB, and new batteries of different brands (I ordered amazon basics which have great reviews and you know amazon will fix or refund if you have an issue and bought a pack of Energizer rechargeable locally as well as some eneloop pros which many sites and people say are the absolute best). So word of caution folks. Most of these reviews are from people who just received the product, charged.it initially and are reviewing based on one use. Ive charged these batteries 5-10 times (both black double a powerowls and white triple a powerowls) and they don't hold any energy or decent charge and last hours if not minutes once installed in remotes or Xbox controllers. Look elsewhere as you might spend a more buying eneloops( which web sites say are the best as do forums and word of mouth) Amazon basics aren't as good as eneloops but are a great bang for your buck as read on forums and review sites. And then Energizer rechargeables also score high as well. Energizer also have some excellent rechargeable bases (one is spendy but it recharges in an hour and a few years back I had that 1 hour charger and it was awesome but it cost fifty bucks. You get what you pay for, and as much as I wanted powerowls to work for the price, the reviews, the clean look of them and so on, they just aren't worth it and they will be going in the trash. I actually ordered a battery case to hold all the new rechargeable batteries I purchased and just got today, and it came with a battery tester which j can't wait to run some powerowls through and compare them to other brands but I know what the results will be since Ive experienced it first hand. If powerowls stood behind their product they'd replace both my pack of double a and triple a and charger and do their own tests on them and let me give a new kit a go... Maybe every item I ordered was defective. Maybe the cold Seattle weather affected them. Who knows. Im also very strict on rechargable batteries and devices and make sure to fully charge when fresh out the package, use until dead, and then fully charge again so the batteries "memory" doesn't change and shorten the life. Only thing I learned is powerowls should be called powerouts or powerouch as that's all I experienced. Small capacity. Never would show a full charge in any device I put them in, and I could count the time of get of use out them in hours if not minutes (in tv remotes and Xbox controllers) not days. Hard. Hard pass. Maybe with some better tech, a full redesign, quality control, a pro line, a WAY better charger and more.. they could salvage this brand. Otherwise, don't expect Anything less than a battery full of snake oil that looks like an eneloop and performs like 1/100th of one. DO NOT BUY.

Excellent customer service!
I was tired of replacing regular batteries especially in my Christmas decorations so chose to go to reusable batteries. Love them! I had a charging issue with a couple of them but Powerowl customer service was excellent in replacing them promptly.
