Love, Love, Love! Using as Shower Curtain Rod...
I searched high and low for a high polished, gold tone shower curtain rod. Nothing else would do as I have high polished, gold tone Grohe bath fixtures in my bathroom. The faucet on my jacuzzi tub is massive and very dramatic so putting up any other color rod would not have worked. I couldn't believe how impossible it was to find what I was looking for. I came across a handful of gold shower curtain rods but they were all around $100. I don't mind spending money to decorate my home but for me, I couldn't see spending that much on a shower curtain rod. This "room divider" popped up in my search so I put it in my cart as I continued looking. I would have purchased it immediately but I read the comment from the seller stating it shouldn't be used as a shower curtain rod because it would eventually rust but how many of us have had actual shower curtain rods rust over time? Me! I purchased this anyway because I always wipe down my shower and fixtures after I shower, including the curtain rod so I don't see this rusting anytime soon. A review below states you can't make it shorter once you pull it out but that's not the case. It easily goes from long to short and back again. Another review states it tricky? There's nothing tricky about it. A 3rd grader could put this up. Takes 2 minutes. The rod is beautiful. It's very, very smooth and very shiny deep gold. Sometimes shiny gold tone can look cheap. This doesn't! My gold rollerball curtain hooks slide across this rod like a dream! The suction cups are excellent. I have an Italian porcelain tile up the walls in my shower that have a very slight "wave" texture. This rod sticks to it like nobody's business. Very tight and secure. I purchased the rod that goes to 50". My shower is 101" high and 45" wide. It's perfect and it looks EXACTLY like a shower curtain rod. Nobody will ever know it's a "room divider." I am extremely pleased with this product! The ease of use, the perfect shiny gold, the incredible smoothness make it well worth $30. I would recommend this product to a friend or family member. (ps: if you like my shower curtain it's Tahari which I also purchased here on Amazon. it's beautiful!) thank you seller & AMAZON!

I bought 3 sizes for 3 sliders, some tips
This is a quality product, I bought one to try, then two more to hang curtains in three sliders- 6', 8', and 12'. I wanted the curtains to be inside the slider opening as there isn't room to mount them above or out the sides. I used curtains with grommets that slide along the poles. The 6' pole was easy to install, no issues. The pole kept sliding down in the 8' slider opening, studying it I could see the problem was not the pole but the sides the pole pushed against- they were not parallel, and slippery plastic, so the pole did not grip well. I fixed that by putting a bead of hot melt glue under the pole ends to stop the sliding. (it sticks, but can be scraped off) The 12' pole sagged an inch or so in the middle, so I added a support to hold up the middle. It's now flat, and since the curtains open in the middle it's not in the way. This was a quick, easy, and inexpensive solution to my curtain problem.

Just what I needed. When you don't want to pull out the drill and nails!
This is so convenient especially when you're in a pinch. I wanted to wait about 2 weeks before submitting my review. I was genuinely surprised by the quality and build. I did quite a bit of research. I think we've all been there. You scroll and scroll and filter out items by star rating and even price and even then you have your doubts. I narrowed it down between this and three different items and did a comparison of all four. In the end, this one had the better reviews and it was also aesthetically pleasing, when compared to the other three. The first thing I noticed about this item after a few days was nothing had fallen down, even with the addition of heavy blackout curtains. There really isn't enough time in the day to review things but this was actually worth taking a moment to share and maybe helping others cut down the time they search. I am certainly glad my search is over. LOL

Works but sagging
I ran into a problem after I bought a gorgeous and very expensive curtain rod for my 11 foot window. I couldn’t screw it into the walls or the ceiling because it turned out that in my new apt that is where the air conditioning vent is. So I needed a solution without a middle support. I found this tension rod. Assembling it was super easy. Line up the screws. Tighten with included wrench. Loosen screws at the end. Take off the cap. Put on curtains. Screw cap back in. Twist rod a number of inches longer than the wall. Squeeze and position. I’m 5’5 and was able to get it into position myself while on a step ladder. Good news is , it’s been a few days and the rod hasn’t slipped or changed positions. But as other reviews have mentioned, bc it is almost at full extension capacity it does sag in the middle. I KNOW I extended it to as much as I could, I had my bf give it some muscle too in case I was too weak. But it sags in the middle with no weight by about an inch. I have very light curtains on it. I think it would stay up with heavier weight as well. It is quite a solid piece of hardware. Gravity just gets the better of it. That said, it does do the job of keeping up curtains on an 11 foot wall without a middle support. So while it’s not most elegant - 4 stars - as I would have NO curtains without it.

Beautiful alternative to permanent rods
I purchased 4 sets 2- 48"-80" and 2- 80"-120" as I needed a solution for placing curtains within my sliding door frame and window frames . Shower curtain rods were too narrow and the bulbous ends wouldn't allow the grommet curtains. I found this solution and it worked perfectly. I was able to install the rod on a 104" wide span with 3 curtain panels (of heavy weight thermal curtains) by myself! It would be easier with 2 people. Initially I had doubt that any TENSION TYPE ROD LIKE THESE could support a very wide span (104") AND 3 heavy curtain panels. But these are designed for exactly this application and are well worth the $$$$. I plan to remove them in the winter as I am only trying to keep the Florida heat out. So not having to install curtain rods AND to be able to tuck them into my sliding door frames really made a neat, modern solution. The silver steel is smart in appearance and very sturdy. I highly recommend these ...save yourself the grief of trying flimsy lightweight tension rods or unsuitable (for curtains) shower rods.

Sturdy Tension Rods
These are very sturdy Tension rods. I’ve ordered 3 and will probably order another. I ordered 2 108 “ and 84” . While I did install them by myself - it would be easier with a helper . they work great as room dividers. I have blackout drapes hanging on them -4 panels and there’s no sagging.

PROFESSIONAL QUALITY
After searching high and low, this rod was one of two that were long enough for the width of the room at 108". Although this was more expensive, it was worth every penny. It's super strong and doesn't sag in the middle even with 4 panels of curtains. They are not blackout or heavy weight curtains, just opaque cotton curtains, 96" long and all together 216" wide. I was worried about the dreaded sag as I didn't want to have to screw in a center support on the wood tongue and groove ceiling. The other rod I was considering telescoped out to the full length tapering considerably from thick on one end to thin on the other making for a wonky hanging of curtains. Not this one, though, same on both ends. The strength in the spring on this rod is impressive. It definitely took 2 people to install due to the long length but so worth the extra bit of effort. I went with the silver and it looks great. It would be nice if it was available in gunmetal... hopefully soon! I would buy this again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to several friends. Great product and great company... Thank you RoomDividersNow!

Great, with Reservations
I've used these rods (each a new one) in varying sizes in many apartments and they've all done the job. Sometimes they need a center support and that works, too. They aren't the most good looking decor for rods but they are simple and get the job done. I've used them with hooks and rings combo and with curtains that have grommets. The way to dress it up a bit is to use some good quality curtains. So this time around I got some I used in the past from a quality store, with grommets, as I did before but this time in a light color. And wow. I won't do that again. First, unlike the other black rods from RD that I've gotten in the past, the black is scraping off in places from the grommets (I assume) going back and forth. But worse, the black is marking up the white linen where it hits the rod when fully closed. And it's permanent. Won't come off. That's a new one for me. Never happened with past rods of the same, nor same curtains with same grommets, different color. The good news is that it is far enough up that you'd have to really look for the marks and the rod discoloration, so I'm gonna live it. The bad news same as good news. The curtains were not inexpensive. Here are my general pros and cons after 5 years using this brand. Pros: Easy to install and if you have walls that mar easily, a felt chair dot applied to the end caps is a quick remedy as long as you make sure the tension is tight. The center support from the same folks works great and looks pretty nice and is adjustable so easy to use when your ceiling to rod height might be variable. It's a great way to not have to deal with adding holes in the walls for a rental. I've always found the company to be helpful, quick to reply, and they will endeavor to help when asked. Cons: For longer rods, a two person team is useful to get the rod pushed on. Beware that some rods may have a finish issue like mine (dunno why) and the dark colors may come off. This one is more personal than general: tension rods great for not wanting to put holes in the wall if it's a rental but harder to get curtains on and off cause you have to remove the rod (if the tension is good, not easy to do) and then fool around with curtains (whether washing, rearranging etc) and then go through the two-person placement again rather than lifting a rod off of supports, blah blah. Totally about me, not the poor rod. While the tension thing works itself in, the rod can slip some and will need adjusting. Not a defect, just a thing. Eventually it just stays in place. And yes, I would buy these again, but I'd think twice about black rods and white linen.

it works fine but could not take heavy curtain, specially if you use the full length of the rod

Excellent product and company
I was originally upset with the supplier. I had made a mistake in ordering the wrong colour, and tried many times to get in touch with them before it was sent out and they never responded. However, I received an email from them a few days later on where they apologised for the delay in replying, saying that they strive to be excellent and because of that omission they refunded the whole amount back to me! I never asked them for a refund but they did it anyway. That goes to prove that they are a serious company. The rods themselves are excellent. Really high quality, easy to set up and very sturdy. I bought black-out curtains from John Lewis and they support them perfectly. Highly recommend the product and the supplier.

Great rod
This was exactly what I needed for a 9 foot rod. My install instructions were not correct but that's ok, very easy to figure out!

Not sturdy at all and VERY expensive to return
It was not nearly strong enough and our curtains were very light. And it cost nearly $100 to return. Very unhappy and disappointed. I trusted this was an Amazon product... clearly it was not.
