If you work on a tabletop or a desktop, the power connector on your PC will be on the back or towards the rear of the left or right side. Assuming a comfortable typing distance from the edge of your work surface, the short end of this cable results in the adapter brick in the middle being lifted off the floor.I have used it with a couple of different Acer/Gateway laptops and an Acer VZ4810G all-in-one desktop PC, and the adapter is just a bit too short to be comfortable used with any of these without having it sit on the work surface.I'll be looking for a replacement and will keep this as a backup.
