Easy to install and works like a charm!

The trunk lid of my 14 y/o Miata (MX5) was more difficult to lift, and more prone to slamming shut, because the two hydraulic struts were failing. Bought this pair for about $20. Using onl;y a small flat-blade screwdriver to pry up the retaining clips, I had the old ones off, and the new ones on, in less than five minutes. New ones fit perfectly, and they work very well.

Kind of an afterthought to look for these; but then I had a lot going on then. Very easy to install in my 2007 Miata, very strong action on them, no issues keeping the trunk open. Happy I got them, good price, etc.

...so good. Pop off the old strut using a screw driver or pry bar and pop on the new. Be careful that the trunk lid doesn't hit you on the chin - it will open quickly.

Should have replaced these probably a couple of years ago. The originals were getting very weak and would barely hold the trunk lid open. I easily replaced them with these lift supports and they work so well I have to be careful they don't open to quickly. These have been a great replacement.

I replace both struts on the trunk lid of my 2007 MX-5 Miata and it no longer slams shut if I accidentally let go of it in the raised position. Smooth operation and reasonably easy to install.

Easy installation, except the bottom retaining clips wouldn't lift up evenly so had to fiddle with them a bit. These lift the trunk lid quite fast once they are at their stroke and close it just as fast so don't leave anything sitting in the way. Hold the trunk lid up with ease. Longevity is yet to be determined.
