Moved to a new house where the small '10' on the front door was very tricky to see from the road. With no front fence or wall the only other place was high up on the brick column between the double garage doors. Now, I was trained in Typography, which includes the correct spacing between letters depending on the typeface/font and what the individual letters are. I am also fortunate in having a daughter who is also trained in Typography, so shall we say there were 'words' about how to space a '1' and a '0', and how far we should allow the slightly higher '0' to dip below the bottom line of the '1'. Typographically a '0' is slightly taller than a '1' to allow it to do this. If we had simply put the horizontal baseline of both numbers on the same line we would both have been tutting every time we walked up the path! Agreeing then marking the points to drill into brick to within 0.5mm, and then drilling them accurately was not easy or quick, but I have to say they look great and don't jar my sensitive senses.

Edit: 16th October 2025, i received a new version next day, hopefully this last longer than 4 months, but my number 4, has started to also stain .. Purchased early June, 4 months later this "stainless steel" has started to discolour/rust Have asked for a replacement, Will update with what happens Edit: I received a replacement, and within two weeks of just general weather, its rusting again
