Excellent but Complicated
For a mother who likes to be prepared and in the know this is excellent for a more independent understanding of what is happening with your little one

Comforting and informative
Found it very helpful to read about this whole new terrifying world as sometimes what the DRs say goes in one ear and out the other in the stress of the moment. Itโs all spot on and helpful even after NICU journey has ended. Based on UK and even though authors are American almost all of it was relevant to NHS experience (except the bits about how to pay your hospital bills!)

A lifeline for NICU parents โ every preemie family needs this book
As a parent who has been through the overwhelming experience of having a premature baby, I cannot express how grateful I am that this book exists. When you're thrown into the world of the NICU with little warning and even less preparation, the fear and uncertainty can be paralyzing. This book was a lifeline. The author covers everything a parent of a preemie needs to know โ from understanding medical terminology and NICU equipment, to navigating the emotional rollercoaster of having a baby in intensive care. It's written in a way that is clear, compassionate, and accessible without being condescending or overly clinical. You genuinely feel like the author understands exactly what you're going through. What sets this book apart from generic parenting guides is how specific and practical it is. It addresses the unique developmental needs of premature babies, what to expect during and after the NICU stay, how to support bonding during a difficult time, and how to prepare for bringing your preemie home. Every chapter felt directly relevant to our experience. It also takes the emotional health of the parents seriously. The sections addressing parental stress, grief, and the psychological impact of premature birth are honest and validating in a way that many medical resources overlook. Just knowing you're not alone in what you're feeling makes an enormous difference. This book should be in the hands of every parent facing a premature birth. The author has done an incredible service to families in some of their most vulnerable moments. Truly thankful this resource exists.

Not good post NICU
Bought this after my baby came home from NICU and felt like I already knew so much of what this book tells you. I wanted a book that went more into what happens when theyโre home. Definitely would have been handy as soon as my girl went into NICU
