It's "normal" looking enough that if someone saw a peek of it in a skirt or over jeans they probably wouldn't think much of it.The material and quality seems to go up over time - the most recent ones feel far better made and are way more durable than ones purchased years ago. Bought this because we were tired of buying disposable diapers all the time. We figured worst case we lose a few bucks if it doesn't work well. Had them only for about two weeks so I can't speak for the durability other than to say they SEEM like they will last. We purchased extra pads like a few ppl recommended and I would recommend as well. They are extremely absorbent with two pads in them. Can easily hold multiple used without leaking and you wake up so much drier than disposables. They are also very comfy and much cuter than a disposable. Will defiantly be purchasing more if they hold up as well as I am expecting.
