DAK Premium Ham 16 Oz Pack of 4

I had a can of this in the fridge that I inherited from my mom years ago. It was time to open it and try it or toss it. It was wonderful! But no one had it at area grocery stores, so I bought it online. It's delicious! Just lightly salted, it's as good as premium whole hams, which are much too large for me, and great hot or cold. This will become a staple in my cupboard, and I recommend it to anyone who likes the taste of ham and the convenience of a canned product!

I received this today. However the last order had 2 out of the 4 bad. Seals were broken by the opening clip. The ham was spoiled had to throw them away.

What I expected. Package was carefully wrapped. Did not arrive by Amazon Delivery and later than expected. The Four Cans were not Breached (No leakage) Tabs intact. 2 Cans dented somewhat, but in my opinion safe. Generally, DAK is a best brand for a canned ham. O.K. Purchase.

Sell By Date 11/23/27: My family has not eaten pork since I was 12 years old, so I'm no expert, but I'm fairly certain that pork is not supposed to taste like the nasty inside of a befouled can. Because we eat ground turkey disguised as beef all year round (plus Butterball turkey ham, turkey bacon, turkey bologna, turkey salami, and smoked turkey), we're not that fond of a whole baked turkey on the holidays and generally eat pasta of some kind on Thanksgiving and Christmas unless we're entertaining company, however, we have a relative who insists upon pork whenever he comes over, and we usually serve him Dak ham, which he generally likes, but not this year. Our cousin insisted I taste the ham and it was much too horrible and horrendous to eat -- the meat tasted heavily of can, much too disgusting to swallow, which I did not, and caused an itching and burning in my mouth, down my throat, up my nose, and on my tongue, and even hours later, clogged up my nose, and caused the inside my mouth to itch. It caused a total allergic reaction to less than a fork full of Dak ham. I thought possibly the food was past its freshness date, but the sell by date is 11/23/27. We still have 4 more cans of the stuff.

This is a great product to have on the emergency shelf in case you get snowed or flooded in and can't get to the store. Not needing refrigeration until opened is a big plus. Also, this is perfect to dice up and put into scalloped potatoes or other casserole-type dishes. The cans were packed and cushioned to the very limit and only one has any denting/damage, so I will use that one first.

This is a family favorite. It is a great value. The flavor is very good, not too salty and not much fat. Better yet it is a quick meal. It can be ready in 15 min. Mix about 3 tablespoons of brown sugar with 1-2 Tbsp water, a half tsp of mustard to glaze the top while baking.

I received my Dak Premium Ham order today, 8/3/2026. Although they made it clear on their site that damages to the cans were possible I was hoping I would received mine undamaged. NOPE! There is a “no refund policy”. Had they been shipped in a box they probably would’ve been just fine with no damage, but they were shipped in a standard plastic bag. I ordered four cans. Two were damaged. Of the two, on one of the cans the seal was broken, it had to be thrown out. The other was damaged but the seal was not impaired. I never would have attempted this purchase but the store where I usually bought my canned hams stopped carrying the brand I was buying. These canned hams are great for quick recipes when I’m not up to cooking a whole ham. I have not opened any of the Dak hams yet. I’m sure they are just as good as what I previously bought in store. FYI: The cans are the same size but the Dak hams are over twice the price of the in store canned hams.
