These are the BEST little nippers I have ever worked with! They were sharp out of the box, flex just right, and I can operate them one handed. I have both full sized and miniature horses, and the short arms on these nippers fit under the little guys without interference from their chest or bellies. I have had multiple tendon surgeries in my dominant hand, and the only way I can keep nipping hoofs is if the set I am using is easy to operate. Now, because its small, it will take longer than the big ones your muscular farrier types probably prefer because for those blessed with the big guns its just clip clip clip clip, rasp and done. But when your wrists and fingers are in a constant battle to reduce pain and inflammation, these little guys are a blessing. If you do maintenance trims between farrier visits, if you're getting a little older and don't have the same grip strength, or if you've little ones to work on, I recommend trying these nippers. They might be your new favorites, too!

I got these for my new mini donkey. He has a history of hating having his feet worked with, so I wanted to work with him on our own before trying to involve a farrier (someone new to him and who needs to work more quickly). These are sharp and easy to use. They weren’t too long for my smaller hands. I’m in love. I read in some reviews that they rust, but mine haven’t shown any signs of rust so far. I couldn’t be happier. (And the donk is doing amazing with them!)

These nippers work great at trimming my pigs hooves. They are the only tool that helps me take off a decent amount. They came nicely greased up. Only complaint I have is that within weeks it started rusting. And I've kept them inside the house on the floor of my closet. So not sure why they rusted ? But I'm still happy to have them to help with my piggycures.

I have tried a few different tools to cut rivets and stuff while working on leather projects these things are great for that particular task. Excellent product, built well and feels sturdy in your hand. I would buy again.

I originally went for a cheaper product even though I should have known better. I then got this nipper and it is great. I use it for hoof trimming on my American Miniature horses. The smaller size makes the job easier and it makes a neat cut with the edges being nice and sharp and meshing together well. I would definitely recommend for small equine.

Product is fine. It is a great pair of hoof nippers, very well made, and fit a lot easier in my hand than my 18” set. However, it was very late! It showed delivered June 30 when in fact it WAS NOT DELIVERED until July 9th!

If you own miniatures or ponies and do your own trims , then you MUST have these nippers. Made the job a breeze . I live in the southwest which means hard hooves. Very impressed ! Came sharp and oiled , ready for use.

They look nice, but the steel is too soft and the jaws bent on the first use trimming soft donkey hoof after the rain. Maybe they forgot to heat treat the steel on this one, because all the other reviews are great. I can put these in a vise and bend it by hand like mild steel would. Not vanadium like they say, I call BS. Gonna take it to work tomorrow and heat treat it, sharpen it, and then we'll see if that works.
