**Q: How can this be one handed if it's not spring loaded?**
A: You use a finger as your spring. Kind of like working chop sticks. It’s a two hand tool but it is usable with one hand when you need to hold a hoof in your hand for a cut or two.

**Q: Are the width of the blades small enough for mini's so it doesn't take off too much at once?**
A: this can work and if you want special for mini's you can buy 10" pony Nipper

I've been using those for over 6 months now on my one medium-small horse which I trim every 2-4 weeks (so don't need to take off a LOT of hoof wall at a time) and I have nothing bad to say about them. People who give those bad reviews forget how much "real" proffessional nippers cost. They do what they are supposed to just fine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for the novice trimmer

These have narrow pinchers and you can be very accurate it your trim. They are made of high carbon steel, which is a good thing, but rust will appear. Just keep a light coat of vegetable oil on them when not in use and wipe clean when ready to use. Mine have served me well. Check out ELPO hoof mapping and videos on how to trim, on YouTube. You will avoid a lot of mistakes and do right by your horse or pony.

I used, or tried to use these, just once and they would not cut my horses hooves. I guess they are truly made for just ponies, goats, etc. So now I don't know what to do............try to get a refund? I don't know how these things work. But I do know that I need a new pair of nippers and am wondering what the best kind would be. I have not had experience choosing the best hoof nipper for a reasonable price so need to learn alot about what I should look for.
