Lots of information on kilns, some glazes, but the lions share of it is about the firing and the kilns in question. An awesome resource and supplement to our growing library on kilns and kiln making. Highly recommend for those just starting out in ceramics, and for those who have some mid level experience with it. Lots of photos, but the knowledge is invaluable. The kind of book that will come in handy should this craft be lost to future generations.

I purchased the book because I have always been curious about firing methods beyond the basic electric firing. She gives a great overview of the various alternative firing methods, then she went into more details on each one. Her book makes these previously exciting but also intimidating firing methods approachable.

I'm planning to build a wood fired kiln and this beautiful book is proving to be an excellent resource. I've always been a participant in wood firings, so all the details from wadding to cone packs to clay and glaze considerations are super useful in guiding me to firing on my own. This will no doubt become dogeared with use.

Great book, very informative and loads of instructive photos. I am new to kilns and I think this will give me the confidence to move forward with firing and maybe even try making my own raku kiln. Think it would be a good book for any level of potter.
