are these insoles firm or soft?

I found these insoles completely comfortable they are both firm and soft.

Most insoles like this have heel cups as well. Does this still work without them?

I'm assuming they might..I have heel spurs and pronating feet so it is really hard for me to find anything that works for me.. at first I didn't think these were going to work but after a few day they seem to be a bit more comfy...no heel pain yet...fingers crossed!!!
