There are two firm, cylindrical pieces of foam on the inside of the mask for keeping the mask from resting directly against your face -- one for the forehead and the other for the chin. The foam came glued to the mask, and it keeps it far enough away that I didn't have trouble breathing. With one point of pressure being on your chin, you're not going to want to talk too much. The upside is that when I did talk, I didn't move my lower jaw and actually sounded somewhat like Hugo Weaving (watch the man act -- his jaw barely moves when he speaks). So if you, too, are a Texan who's lived in New Zealand and thus speak with a hard-to-nail-down-geographically accent that most Americans think sounds Australian, then you are be in luck. The mask is secured to the head with one broad (1" wide or a little more) elastic strap with a buckle to adjust tightness. My hat size is 7-3/8, so I had to let the buckle all of the way out, but I didn't find it uncomfortable. The elastic slips through loops molded inside the mask. The paint job on the mask is done well. The mask was delivered in a bubble wrap envelope and sustained no damages or scratches in transit. Likewise, the mask wasn't scratched from being in a bag with other items after I removed it to more easily see where I was going late in the afternoon on the day of the festival. Field of vision is severely restricted in this mask, but that is just the nature of the Guy Fawkes mask design. Mashing down the foam to bring it in closer to your eyes helps. I didn't have too much of a problem breathing with the mask on. I wore the mask somewhere between four and five hours outdoors on a 20 degree Celsius (68 degrees F for those of you who measure in American) day before deciding that I was just going to wear a cloth mask for the remainder of the day. Considering that I consumed a staggering amount of adult beverages in that time before deciding I needed to breathe a little easier, that should speak to the comfort level of this mask. Definitely recommended for budget "V for Vendetta" cosplay or for the protestor who is concerned about quality workmanship when hiding his or her face from the Gestapo. The other reviews were dead-on. This mask is what the other masks that are sold on Amazon should be like. Its high-quality resin, very thick, and the strap is a nylon strap with a clip that adjusts to the size of your head, and is elastic so that you can slip it on and off. The only drawback to this is, if you're going to wear it as a mask out in public or at a party, that the nose holes aren't very big, and it fits very snug to your face (at least it does to mine), so breathing is a bit easier through the mouth.
