The large fit SO MUCH better! My feet can go through the ankle openings! The pant legs are also long enough to cover my ankles when I let them sit where I want them to on my hips. Definitely would recommend buying a size up. The exchange process went smoothly and I got my replacement 4 days after I started the process. I usually wear a size 8 and am 5'6". So I ordered a medium. THESE DID NOT FIT AT ALL!! 1. The ankle openings were WAY too small (see video) causing the pant leg to barely go up my calves 2. They were SO short due to Reason #1 that the waist band sat below my hip bone. 3. The fit was so tight all around my legs. It honestly felt like it was a Small so I had to double check that it was a Medium that I ordered.
