Do not power this lock from an unregulated 12VDC wall wart — many output 15–16 V under light load and will cause overheating. Use either a regulated 12VDC supply or an unregulated 9VDC wall wart rated for ≥400 mA, which will sag to ~11–12 V under load. The lock draws ~180–200 mA continuously in real use.

I picked up 3 of these, one to build into my workbench, and two to build into my welding table. They do an amazing job of clamping things in place while I grind, drill, etc., and don't require very much power so I was easily able to find old 12V 1A wall warts to power them. I don't expect the plastic body to hold up forever, but I don't care given the price.

This works as described. magnet seems a little weak but ok.

These are fantastic, I use them to hold drawers shut in an RV.

Magnet was shipped quickly, arrived promptly. Once installed, it hardly had any holding power even with the steel plate held tightly against the magnet. The instructions were in Chinese and I was unable to understand them but after reading the instructions for another magnet lock I discovered I needed to leave the steel door plate loose enough to allow it to lay flat against the magnet. If there are even a few hundredths of an inch space separation between the plate and any part of the magnet it will not work at all. Once I got that figured out it seems to work great, although the magnet runs hot to the touch. Maybe I should get some thermal conduction grease and install a heat sink?

Shipped within the US, this item only included instructions and technical specs in Chinese. Not just negligent customer service, but also a safety risk where electronics are concerned. I will not purchase from this manufacturer again.The magnet is strong enough but must be mounted with extreme precision using more gear than was provided because it does not attract at all until the magnet and plate are literally touching.

Nicely constructed but the listing states "Working Current: 110mA". It actually draws closer to 260mA @ 12 vdc and runs too hot to touch! I didn't get around to using it until after the return period so I am stuck with it. Shopping for something better now and will be sure to test the current draw as soon as I get it this time!

Didn’t work at all. Had to put my old maglock back in. I don’t know how China makes things as amazing as the iPhone but us equally capable of pumping out endless amounts of garbage products like this. Don’t buy anything from this company.
