This is an awesome hair product. I use it on damp hair and then do low-power blow-drying for a short time. My hair has thinned dramatically starting in menopause, but you would never know it when I use this Nioxin gel!

I have very fine hair and have always used a gel to give hair some body. My go to was Redken 06 thickening lotion which Redken discontinued. I have since tried products made by L'Oreal, AG lift paste and more and none of them worked. I tried NIOXIN as soon as I received it (delivered one day early) and I am beyond impressed. The gel has a pleasant scent, pale grey in color and is thick. A pea size dollop suffices for great hold and styling. Even the humidity where I live doesn't breakdown the style. If you have suffered a flat hairdo or styling do BUY this!

This doesn't do ANYTHING for actually "thickening hair follicles". It does however give your overall hair/head 'volume' when used with a blow dryer......but then again, what hair product doesn't do that when used with a blow dryer?? It just makes it puff up and stand upright, without the stiff crunchy feeling of a styling product.Don't waste your money on marketing hype. This does nothing for fine hair strands. Don't confuse VOLUME and THICKENING. There is no product on the market today that can actually (proven) 'thicken hair follicles' in a single or even multiple applications. This only gives your hair volume. Trust me, as a guy with short, baby fine hair, I've been trying so many things that claim they 'thicken hair", but its all just marketing hype. I've tried:- BedHead Small Talk 3-in-1 thickifier- L' Oreal Volume Filler Densifying Thickening Gelee- Not Your Mother's 'plump for joy' thickening hair lifterand they all do the same thing....nothing. They give you volume and makes your hair stand upright after blow-drying (per the instructions), but don't actually thicken the hair follicle. So if your looking to actually THICKEN the hair strand itself, .....there's not a single product that can do it.Been using this Nioxin for a little over a week now (along with Nioxin 2 Shampoo). I wont bother to buy another

I ordered this because my hair was so baby soft and started using this and my hair feels thicker. It’s the texture that’s different.

Only used it on wet hair. Little goes a long way. Pea sized amount to my short hair. Didn’t have this for summer use. No strong smell. I either shape my hair with my fingers or use roller brush then fluff.. it holds the shape. I leave it “stiff”Or loosen it with my fingers to soften the hair and it holds the shapeStyling shape without residue on hair shafts.
